But again they had to foul us multiple times down the stretch to get us to shoot free throws, so it's not even as close as it looks.you are correct, I reversed it. Regardless, the fouls were basically even but if you followed the game
thread you would have thought it was one sided. It was a very physical game and most of the fouls
called were legit (give or take 2 or 3). There were some ticky-tac fouls called both ways.

Hang on to your hats when conference play begins. They are going to beat each up like never before. It’s the most talented its every been and from top to bottom good. Every game will be intense and you better bring the intensity to survive. Don’t be surprised to see the conference winner with 5 or 6 losses. Going to be a fun roller coaster ride with many ups and downs. I think there is a good chance to see 12 or 13 teams from the conference in the big dance and don’t be shocked when 3 of the final 4 teams are SEC teams. SEC has the best basketball conference this year and the B1G a distant 2nd. But hey, everyone needs to understand It Just Means More!It will be hard to hang on to #1 once we hit conference play. Don’t know that I’ve ever seen the league this tough and balanced. It’s going to be a meat grinder.
This. What would’ve been pathetic is if they would’ve quit trying. Shots weren’t falling, but. they busted their ass to keep us in the game. Like everyone else is saying in here, you showed your ignorance with this comment.

rewatching the game, the ball actually did graze the rim. you can see it from the under basket angle, the rim rattles slightlyLoved it when they were complaining about the air ball by Igor with 18 seconds left and said Illinois got screwed that the shot clock reset. Took them an entire minute before realizing that a foul resets the shot clock. This is a guy that played basketball at the highest level and doesn’t even know the rules. He sucks.
Hard to think the officials were not biased but as you say we will never know. However the game pace was definitely controlled by the officials. Don't know what style of play Illinoise does but the officiating definitely took Vols out of their game. Intentional.....................?First half was consistently bad on both sides. Second half was completely one sided and awful. The last two fouls in Lanier were atrocious and ZZs 5th was an offensive foul. As was mashacks 3rd foul as he was elbowed in the face. The two white refs were pathetic almost as if they had money on the game but I won’t actually suggest that as a fact. And fouls were really 24-18 as they intentionally fouled 3 times in final minute because they were trailing.

No they didn't, we had 24 called on us and they had 21. Most of the ones called on us were in the second half as they were in the double bonus for the last 8 minutes. They literally had to intentionally foul us twice just for us to get to the 1 and 1 with less than a minute to go.
The second half was the issue. You can’t look at the total fouls and say it was called evenly. They were shooting FT’s halfway through the second half while they had 3/4 fouls. They had to catch up to get in the bonus, so the their last 3 were on purpose.you are correct, I reversed it. Regardless, the fouls were basically even but if you followed the game

I agree. I still don't understand certain fouls were not call. Arm extensions galore on Illinois when driving the ball and Mashack knocked down to the ground and a "no call". As complimentary Barnes was of Underwood, I thought it was BS. Underwood may be a good coach, I don't think so, he is the main reason this game got out of control. The second half was the issue.
