Play ‘em as they appear on the schedule.Far ahead thinking, but bear with me. Say we go on at our current pace and finish first in the SEC with a 28-2, 27-3 type record. Would it really benefit us to play in the little tournament in Hoover. By that point wouldn't we be almost a guaranteed national seed. So why waste the arms and risk playing in Hoover. It would be nice to be crowned SEC champions, but there is a much bigger and prize out there to latch on to. Talk to me and tell.me what y'all think.

Normally I would agree, and I’m sure that line of thinking applies to most teams, but this team needs 4 games a week to get bullpen work for guys. If Dollander is good to go for Hoover, we have 4 starters and 2-3 bullpen guys for each of the 4ish games. This team is built for the postseason. I’m sure Vitello and Anderson will have Regionals on their mind, but hanging a banner is a program win and a recruiting win.Far ahead thinking, but bear with me. This thread right here is a microcosm of WHY Tennessee is going to be massively successful under Vitello and WHY so many “adults” hate Tennessee.
The kid who posted this is just a random high school recruit praising TV for sticking up for his guys. If you comb through the comments, most of the people condemning TV are a bunch of out of touch 40-60 year old complaining about how he is “setting a bad example for my son.”
But, if you look closely enough, there are quite a few comments from high school baseball players saying how much they love TV and would love to play for him. He’s a FIGHTER and the students love that.
But we wouldn't have any pitchers left when we got to Florida. Here's the pro flex UTAD needs to make happen ASAP: reschedule the rain out game against Tennessee Tech for Wedenesday (7 innings) or, heck, even make a double header for Tuesday with one game against Bellarmine and the other against Tech. That way, Viltello only misses one game in Florida.
Liked. But I don’t see us being an afterthought in baseball anymore. We won’t be the this good every year. But I’d wager we are here to stay.We (Vols) are making baseball history & we (fans) better enjoy that as much as possible.
We've all seen the down years of the UT teams. This doesn't come around very often for us.
