What happened at the Knoxville airport? Supposedly Macias went after a lady that tweeted he was in the Knoxville airport as he was waiting to catch his flight?
Yep there's a lot of hitters out there that will hit a straight fastball. You either have it well placed or have a good well hidden off speed pitch. He's got good stuff and he's working on putting it together. He is very hittable for some batters, if he continues to throw fastballs down the middle, he will become more so. Do you at least admit that batters are making more contact lately than earlier in the season?
Word getting out is that Dolly got really good news and is looking at a soft tissue bruise. I’d toss Blade in to Saturday or let Burns drop back a day for an extra day of rest. Let Dollander work his way back slowly. There’s no reason to rush it. Sechrist should be able to go 6+ innings against Bellarmine to take up innings so we can leave bullpen guys for the weekend.
Just going to throw this idea out there. So it seems we have good news on Doolander. Still have a hard time believing he doesn’t miss at least one start. So how about this: we give him this coming weekend off (start Tidwell in place). Follow this up with giving Burns the next weekend off (Auburn series). And then give Beam a weekend off the following (Kentucky series).
Just an idea to give everyone a break, particularly the freshmen. Also allows Tidwell to get stretched out. Don’t hammer me too bad.
I like Tidwell on Sunday until you see how far he can go. Have use of the remainder of the bullpen to finish. Dolly probably want pitcher until all soreness is gone.I don't know that Burns recent 'troubles' are related to lack of rest. These starters are only pitching once per week. Not like every 5 days in the bigs. So I wouldn't move him back a day for that. And his 'troubles' haven't been that bad. He hasn't been as great as in the past during his past two starts, but we won one of them and could've won the other but for a painful error at the SS position. So I would keep him at Fridays for now. I think I might move Beam back to Saturday and bring Tidwell in on Sunday. All that assumes, of course, that Dolly can't start this coming weekend.

Correct, he won’t pitch until he’s perfectly healthy. At that point, he will be limited to a certain number of pitches. We have the depth to absorb whatever the situation is.I like Tidwell on Sunday until you see how far he can go. Have use of the remainder of the bullpen to finish. According to Ben McKee, who I’d say knows well more than me, Burns has lost a few on his velo and is missing his spots with some of his breaking balls. It’s not a major indictment because many pitchers, especially freshmen, hit a wall. Give him an extra days rest and it could help rest his arm a little. I wouldn’t mess with Beam. He’s giving you near perfect outings on Sunday.I don't know that Burns recent 'troubles' are related to lack of rest. These starters are only pitching once per week. It's difficult to change a lineup . If we were going to have problems I guess middle of the season could be the least problem. Glad we're deep in the pen and the hitting is back in stride. Burns will hopefully have it going this weekend .
