Maybe they aren’t clutch with runners on base, but they are second in batting average and top 5 in slugging and on-base percentage. 3 of those 6 games where they scored 2 or less were against us. 6 of 9 (not against us) they’ve scored 6+.

They’re batting .249 in SEC play and batted .232 in the Ok St series, so I don’t really care what their average is playing Austin Peay, Lipscomb and UTM. They’ve been mediocre hitting vs. P5 teams.

The swings even lack confidence. Also, our pitching is not doing what we did earlier with their ERA. Right now we cannot give up 5-6 runs a game with the offensive woes.

Ok so our hitting is absolutely dog **** right now. And our pitching is almost as bad currently. Very real chance we peaked early. Looking back at the SEC teams we’ve beat, well…….they aren’t good. Let’s see how tomorrow turns out. I’m not feeling confident. And if you say you are then you’re lying. You can disagree with me all you want and that’s fair, but if you look at this team over the past 2 games there’s no way you can say everything is just A-Okay.

I made an observation about Burns not being able to locate pitches in his last couple outings which is fair. Hitters seem to be pressing a bit and are way to impatient. It's baseball you don't win every game. And we will likely lose a few more before the season is over. I think they will regroup and refocus. However we could very easily lost this series and UGA. It's only going to get harder from here on.

You don’t even make sense at this point. Your boys on West End are batting .249 in SEC play and .232 in their only other P5 series; they’re not a good hitting team. Their stats are greatly inflated by their piss poor OOC schedule.

Yes, our bullpen kept us in it. Mabrey was fantastic and Blade started strong. Kirby was great as well. Chase may have it the freshman wall.

For all the doomsday people, I will say this: Mississippi State got double dipped in the SECT last year by a combined score of 25-3. Then they proceeded to win the NC. Baseball is a roller coaster of a sport and a single game or series in the middle of the season has no bearing on what the rest of the season will bring.
