Agree. Delucia legitimately said they didn’t respect us (because we had a small ballpark), and that we basically just caught them off guard. Then he proceeded to guarantee a win.

I didn’t see the full quote from Dickey, but that tweet doesn’t really say anything about Alabama. It just says that the team is ready to play tomorrow and they’re going to come out and fight.

Fact #1 they are on a two game losing streak, fact #2 the pitching and errors gave up 6 runs and 11 hits tonight, fact #3 Bama did not let them back in the game at all! This team has all the tools to recover and win this series, but now they are faced with some true adversity and it will be interesting to see how they handle it. It is fun being 31-3, but regular season wins mean nothing when it comes tourney time, just ask the basketVols how their season ended. 1) Chase wasn't sharp, gave up three solo homers.
2) We had their starter on the ropes early but didn't cash the ticket with a timely hit or two.
3) UT SS error allowed two unearned runs
4) They hit Blade in his second inning for a run
5) Bama hit, pitched, and played defense well

We had their starter on the ropes, 1st inning. We shoulda have done more damage than the 2 runs we got. He settled down after that. The ump was calling a lot of low balls strikes and our guys were clearly frustrated.

Burns gave up 3 Solo shots, they took the lead. It appears Luc had a HR wiped off, 1B ump called it foul.

Mabrey came in a tough situation, he looked really good. We needed a double play ball and he served one up, but Lawson let it get through his legs. Tidwell looked outstanding for an inning, scuffled a bit, Kirby came on and got the last out. We couldn’t get it going at the plate, though Ortega had some good AB’s and a solo HR. JMO, but I prefer Ortega at the top of the lineup rather than the bottom but I’m sure the staff has their reasons.

Tip of the cap to Bama, they played better and seemed to have more juice than we did today. We’ll be fine.
