I’m not going to lie. I don’t like this quote from Jared. Sounds like something the DeLucia kid from Ole Miss said and then proceeded to get curb stomped the next day. So, are we just admitting we weren’t mentally prepared for tonight? Alabama is ranked and is on an 8 game winning streak….
Agree we need our stuff together when tournament play starts. Win enough to host Super regionals. We have a very damn good baseball team and this team can win it all.For all the doomsday people, I will say this: Mississippi State got double dipped in the SECT last year by a combined score of 25-3. Then they proceeded to win the NC. Baseball is a roller coaster of a sport and a single game or series in the middle of the season has no bearing on what the rest of the season will bring.

Not sure what you mean, but last week, Missouri led in each game , Vols pulled it out but there is a chink in the armor, TN Tech beat them, now Bama doubled them up. Losing streaks tend to breed losing. I can tell the temperature in the room or on the field so to speak, sorry it deflates your bubble, long season for Vol baseball and the win streak was going to end, now the trick is to not allow the current losing streak stretch over a couple of weekends or weeks.Lol…you do this in basketball too
I'm not sure these bulletin board quotes matter much in the outcome of games. We just need to hit the ball when we get folks on base. There was no way we were going to go undefeated in the league. Regroup and start a new winning streak tomorrow. While it was fun to clown on Ole Miss, chalk it up more to emotion than anything. I doubt the boys weren’t ready for tonight, just mad at the loss.
Yeah because you spout off about the stats with no stats. Nobody would agree that .249 in college is a good team batting average. They’re 54 pts lower in SEC play than their overall average, so again, WGAF, what they do against midweek teams in terms of boosting their overall average.Uh, ok, well played, you win.![]()

Yeah, we don’t really have room to talk about opponent celebrations with some of the things we’ve done out there.

Yeah, Drew Gilbert has talked about stomping on throats post game and we do our fair share of hot dogging lol. I like it, but if you’re going to do all that you can’t sound bitter when the other team beats you and does it themselves.
We better back up this talk the rest of the weekend.
Just got back from the game. Not our finest outing, but we are due for a few of those. Still 12-1, we're fine.
The concern: Last two outings the pitch calls for Burns baffles us ex-pros/critics in the stands. That what's we were talking about all night long.
Anderson has gone to calling, in my/our opinion, way too many sliders. The fastball has become a secondary pitch for Burns. That is confounding.
The other concern is that his velo on the fastball seems to be a couple mph down. He is getting into 3-2 counts a bunch more than the first six outings, and I think it is due to the high slider count which he does not throw as accurately. Anyway, no biggie. It's baseball. Ebbs and flows.
Hitting was not what we are used to, BUT, we had a near grand slam caught at the wall and another 2 RBI liner caught by a diving right fielder. Those both fall in and its a WHOLE different game. But they didn't. Welcome to baseball. See ya tomorrow night.
