Too many veterans on this team for the lack of focus and effort for their first half performance. Shouldn’t happen with this squad.
Also, this would have been a tobe awaka game imo.

Carolina out of their minds shooting in the first half. The play that summed it up was when a Carolina guy banked in a 3 and Ziegler was running to get the ball and bumped into a Carolina guy (who wasn’t set by the way). They called a foul and Carolina got the ball and a layup for a 5 point trip.

It seems like Gainey is like 5 for 100 shooting 3s this year. Vescovi has been missing all year. Not going to win many games this year with those two trends continuing.

I see now why the refs went so hard maintaining that home whistle in the first half. Paid dividends for a UNC team that didn't hit a shot the last 7 minutes of the game.

This team is not a a good defensive team at this point, which is surprising for a Rick Barnes team.

Literally the number one defensive team in the country, per KP, before tonight. After facing the nations number 4 offense and 2 other top 30 offenses. Wild to make a judgment on us being a bad defensive team off one REALLY bad half of basketball.

Another game where the loss can be explained by free throw disparity. We either need to start playing cleaner... or really getting on the refs to even things up.

Until UT’s entire team learns to attack the basket (not just Knecht), opponents that attack the rim will continue to shoot way more free throws than UT. You don’t go to the line much when all but one guy constantly fire up jump shots.

Half of UT’s free throws were shot by Knecht, the one guy that attacks the basket.

Dude is the only consistent rebounder we have, and quietly has a nice low post scoring game. Needed badly.
