Our current qb limits us to 3-4 plays we can run
If that's true, we have way bigger problems than a QB. Wouldn't that mean we have a major failure in our coach to continue to use that QB or not to change the offense to something the QB can run?Yep. This is the issue.
If we can see it, the rest of the SEC can see it as well.
I’m glad you are reading between the lines because that’s what this boils down to.If that's true, we have way bigger problems than a QB. Wouldn't that mean we have a major failure in our coach to continue to use that QB or not to change the offense to something the QB can run?
It's not that it isn't a Milton problem, it's that it's much more than a Milton problem.
That's my issue. Milton is gone after this year so I see that as a minor issue compared to the coach who is going to be with us for a few years.I’m glad you are reading between the lines because that’s what this boils down to.
Our coach has had a crush on Milton and would have rode with him until he didn’t have a choice. We all saw that and know how it turned out.
It just feels like Heupel loves Joe to a point that he’s blind to what’s going on and even crafts a playbook that is a barely a step above a pee-wee league playbook.
I don’t know if Nico is the answer (I hope he is) but the product on the field tonight at the QB spot was not it by a long shot. That’s not even to mention practically every other aspect of the game.

Discipline on both sides of the ball was horrendous tonight. Preparation seemed to be lacking. When he passed, Milton didn't do horribly and dropped a dime or two, but consistency isn't there. Our secondary was awful, just awful.
I wasn't sold on Heupel but he won me over by emphasizing team building and culture. I'm concerned now that his coaching chops might not be SEC level. I'm very concerned about his play calling this year because regardless of why it's happening, it's not going to go anywhere in the SEC.
Agree. I'm confused by Heupel's playbook. I'm really confused if he feels he has to do this because of Milton. If someone isn't an SEC QB, they just aren't and an SEC coach abandoning the playbook to play a non SEC QB just seems like years of heartache about to happen again.I don’t know, I really don’t. I don’t want to make a rash remark on Heupel because what he did last year was nothing short of incredible. But we saw a lot of these issues early in Year 1 and here we are in Year 3 and it’s right back again.
The lack of the team being ready tonight makes me question. The defense being below par once again is another. As does the refusal to do anything at the QB spot when nothing is working. But the biggest red flag to me is the playbook being condensed to a pre-school coloring sheet.
You and I both. Something feels very off with this team and has since pre-season if we are being honest and taking a good look at it. Playbook is ridiculous compared to last years, lack of any energy from the team, defense looks as bad as the last two years, and the list goes on an on.Agree. I'm confused by Heupel's playbook. I've been wrong a lot about football. I hope I'm wrong about what's going on but I'm afraid Heupel isn't up to task OR he's lost the locker room and the coaching offices.
I'm hope I'm very wrong.
Offensively, he doesn’t trust milton. A coach’s playcalling tells everyone what he thinks of the guy (qb) running the offense. Coach h, doesn’t playcall like he did his first 2 years to what we expected watched the last 3 weeks.I don’t know, I really don’t. Maybe Hooker covered up some of the flaws because of his playmaking ability. Also whenI don’t know, I really don’t.
