The Official #11/#9 Tennessee @ Florida Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, ESPN

As soon as he makes a motion of kneeling, the play is dead. Same as entering a slide, once the QB has “given up” the play is dead. It’s a rule to protect the QB. As soon as he started to kneel, the play was dead. Hamstrings a defense, but it is the rule

Personally I don't like the up tempo that
Huepel runs,, you don't see that in the NFL.
JMO.
I love his "system" , the cadence , and tempo of it. It's just his stubborness to keep letting people make mistake after mistake and do nothing to change it. If someone is failing completely at their job, let someone else try. The worst that can happen is they fail as well. But don't just let someone keep blowing holes in the hull of the ship .

And how do you not have a db follow a wideout in motion across the field for an entire half.

Just utter ineptitude.
Don’t you know? They were too busy trying to figure out their assignments. Because we have such an exceptional coaching staff.

Heupel had the opportunity to really show some leadership at post game news conference. But he only marginally took some responsibility. He could have been much more of a leader here. He mostly blamed players in general. This was a missed chance to show his captaincy. Appears he has trouble with that. I remember Brian Kelly saying at halftime against us last year that "he was being outcoached". My respect for him BK went up exponentially. Heup missed that golden chance tonite. My inclination is that this is an area he needs to grow - obviously. For now, my belief in this program with Heup at the helm is shaken. I won't be following to the level I have been until I see some responsibility taken in the coaching room.

Word on the street is that Banks doesn’t like playing young players hence Hadden.

But the world now knows that Milton is the sane guy who lost his job twice. Milton just doesn’t have it - he never has.
I bet Banks reevaluates some things really fast.. I hate it for Milton, I really do, I so wanted him to be successful 😔

I'm rooting for Joe to succeed. Guys a pure class act. I see why Huepel insists on sticking with him as he's very talented, and that's what I respect him for. I don't understand the idiot line, but I'm also tired and it's been a long day. I hope that I'm wrong and he surprises me going forward.

Intelligence is suspect when you call for career ending decisions from a couch when the coaches see every player every day. Pretty simple really.

Ok go right ahead and defend running the clock when you are down big. I don't think most knowledgeable fans will agree. Careful about accusing others of not knowing what they are talking about when defending that kind of coaching. Youre entitled to your opinion for sure, but lets just see how his decisions age in retrospect for this game.
I maybe would have called the timeout 5-10 seconds earlier, but who cares. If you get the first down we would've been on the 35ish yard line with the clock stopped for the first down. We would've had 30 seconds left at the point. That's still plenty of time. You call that timeout with 1:15, throw an incomplete pass, and put it to them with 1 minute left. You truly don't know what could happen given how many missed tackles the defense had.

The QB was attempting to run out the clock and we were attempting to get him down to get a final play.

This was a dumb take. The missed calls were clear. They were replaying them. However they did agree on the roughing the passer but well all saw the replay and Herring didn't even touch the guy.
You do not understand the dynamic of commentators having to make some attempt to salvage audience in a game where the favorite is being thumped? You missed it I guess. TO EVEN DISCUSS THE REFS in this game is a misunderstanding of the issues tonite. I wish we had been competitive enough to bring the poor officiating up. But we were not. Napier called off his agressive play calling when they went up big. Why can so many fans not see this? THIS IS ON COACHING AND PREP. Sorry but it is. The Vols looked like a poorly coached team tonite. either own up to that or live in victimhood forever.

Brian Kelly is your standard of a coach holding himself accountable???

You are what your record says you are.

UT got embarrassed by UF. It's that simple. Blame it on a bad 15 minutes; Global Warming; Toyota gas pedals; Donald Trump; or Hunter Biden.

Makes no difference. Let me repeat: UT GOT EMBARRASSED BY UF.

That's how football actually works. Matters not how it happened. It happened. Again. For the 10th time in a row in Gainesville.

Granted, only 2 of those are on this staff, but still...it has never been about how many "quarters you win". It has always been about the score at the end of the game. You can deploy all the smoke and mirrors you want, but at the end of the day, it's still 29-16, and 10 in a row in Gainesville.

That's how football actually works.

Go Vols.

I don't dispute that a team is what their record says it is. I also won't back off on one bad quarter. Your response literally include the words embarrassed which is subjective and emotional. My analysis contains zero smoke and mirrors, you're trying to suck me into a different argument and narrative mid discussion. I'm not going to do that. Go do that with someone else and talk about seasons that had different coaches etc, but that's not the original topic.

Also, Go Vols.

You can have the last word and then I'm moving on. That's all I have to say to you about this topic right now.

Garland should be benched next game if as a senior he gets fooled on a 4th and 3 at their 35 yard line like that. That one hurt like the Herring penalty which gave the Gators about 5-6 extra minutes.

Numbers don't lie. We literally lost one quarter. We outscored FL every quarter except the 2nd quarter. Calm down. They sky only fell for 15 minutes. SOOOOO many of you are showing your ignorance of playing or even watching a team sport.

Thank you Freak for including an ignore button that is easy to access. Not joking.
Might be the most stupid post of all time on this forum. UT “won” 3 quarters? Seriously? Nobody “wins” a quarter. You win or lose the game not a freaking quarter. Geesh.

Can I just point to the scoreboard and leave it at that?

Go Vols.
