Heupel doesn't coach in the NFL. It can work in college because most of the players in college, even in the SEC or B1G, never get near the NFL.Personally I don't like the up tempo that
Huepel runs,, you don't see that in the NFL.
JMO.
Willie Martinez. How many times do I have to say this. He was a big reason butch didn’t make it. He’ll be a reason heupel fails if he doesn’t fire him. We cannot expect our dbs to play well if he’s coaching. He’s already failed here once. Why on earth is he here again. And how do you not have a db follow a wideout in motion across the field for an entire half.
Just utter ineptitude.

He touched him
Intelligence is suspect when you call for career ending decisions from a couch when the coaches see every player every day. Pretty simple really.

You see some uptempo in the NFL but the individual talent and discipline is far superior to college.
but bro, you desperately needed 6I maybe would have called the timeout 5-10 seconds earlier, but who cares. If you get the first down we would've been on the 35ish yard line with the clock stopped for the first down. We would've had 30 seconds left at the point. That's still plenty of time. You call that timeout with 1:15, throw an incomplete pass, and put it to them with 1 minute left. You truly don't know what could happen given how many missed tackles the defense had.
Yeah, one call the ref actually got right. We had plenty of bad moments, more on defense than offense from my recollection. I do not understand how the lights were much brigher in the second half. I am as proud of the team for not quitting as I am ashamed of the fans we always hear that everybody has them. Play was not acceptable, many posts are not acceptable. Amazing how they can have such double standards.Garland should be benched next game if as a senior he gets fooled on a 4th and 3 at their 35 yard line like that. That one hurt like the Herring penalty which gave the Gators about 5-6 extra minutes.
I didn't say that so don't put words in my mouth. The team did. The fact is, the vols won 3/4 quarters. THAT's what matters. It's literally how VOL coaches, post game analyzers, vegas, the NCAA will look at this game. The win or loss is not based on joe milton. Just look at time of possession, INTs, passing efficiency, yards after a catch etc, etc.
Blaming one guy for a win or loss for a large-team sport is just not wise. Particularly when defense, special teams, protection, hurries, situation are considered.
Also, people didn't think much of stetson bennett. UGA fans didn't think much of stetson and then....???? He became PART of the reason UGA won a natty and then....???? PART of the reason they won another natty.
Right now, because you are mad and frustrated, you aren't seeing all the good things Milton brings to a team. Look how dominant UGA was last season with an undersized qb. UGA was one of the most dominant teams ever because of time, effort, planning, maximizing his good qualities, having an additional year of having plays designed around his strength and weaknesses, but also, the rest of the offense, defense,. It influences recruiting and other things. Putting together a football program is very complex. One season, slightly less complex. Over reacting is a way to tank a football program is my major point. Any qb is is just part of a football program. Coaching changes can have as big an impact on a team as a qb. Just look at UGA and you saw that earlier today.
Ok then he is a turd too if he does that. I remember the UNC basketball coach Roy Williams was the worst ever. Its a sign of insecurity in my opinion. But on that day, on national TV, Kelly said it out loud. So some credit must be given. He’s famous for throwing his players under the bus. He was getting called out for it after losing to FSU a couple weeks ago.
Because it would have been 4th and 1 and they would have gone for it. 3rd and 11 they were much less likely to get. But, they got itI have a question
On Florida’s first drive that ended on a missed field goal.
There was a holding call on 3rd down by Florida, would have been 4th and 1, instead we accepted the penalty making it 3rd and 11.
The next play Florida got a first down.
And kept our defense on the field for another 6 minutes before the missed FG.
Why not refuse the penalty and make them think about it instead of giving them a free play?
That could have been a huge impact moment in the game.
I agree that it's not the uptempo offense but, as you say, that's not what we're running. My question is why, if Milton can't execute that offense, is Heupel running an offensive scheme this bland and unlikely to be very successful at all in SEC play? It’s not the uptempo offense that’s the problem, it’s the same seemingly 3 or 4 plays we run non-stop, all game long.
Last week, we heard and hoped it was because we were prepping for Florida and didn’t want to show it all. Until we actually played Florida and it was the same crap again. Hooker made this team look like they did last year, this year its seemingly apparent we have a a LOT of problems that were covered by our team last year.
We didn't get the first down, and you certainly can't go for it on 4th and 10 anyway on the 50. That drive had no affect on the game. The costly turnover hurt us, not being able to convert on 4th down 3 times on their side of the field hurts as well. It's no one thing, but I think there's plenty of things that we can fix.but bro, you desperately needed 6
Our current qb limits us to 3-4 plays we can runIt’s not the uptempo offense that’s the problem, it’s the same seemingly 3 or 4 plays we run non-stop, all game long.
