The Official #11 Tennessee vs. Montana Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, SEC Network+

They cooled off & Money went broke when Shack or Bishop were on him.

A bit less turnovers inside by Felix and we’d be up 15+

Yeah. Barnes is about the same age and personality as my high school coach. He called defenses like that gimmicks and said real men play man to man. I don’t see Coach Barnes trying anything like that.

I don’t think it’s stubbornness. I think that they invest so much time teaching the concept that it doesn’t make much sense to switch up to something different.

Chaz only took one shot. Him & ZZ had 2 fouls quick.

Barnes used it to get Carr, Bishop, & Cade more minutes

Shooting 57% from field and 44% from deep.

Their style of offense ate clock so we didn’t take a ton of shots. Pretty good half after Money opened up on fire.

I don’t consider it stubbornness. It was confidence as you said, he believed that man should work in all scenarios. We might go to 2-3 if we were outsized or 1-3-1 trap if we needed to create turnovers. But help/man would work against anyone if we all did our jobs.

I see that in Barnes. He’ll question your manhood if you back down from the challenge and you won’t play for him after that.

Also, Barnes is teaching defensive principles that work at any level, comes down to execution.
