It was practice. Taking infield. When the ball wasn’t going through our legs, we were kicking it all over the place. When we did field it, we threw it into the bleachers.

Coach called us in…he started calmly, he’s holding a baseball…”Boy’s this is a baseball. In football season you can play with it. In basketball season you can play with it.”

He paused, then, at the top of his lungs…”In F’n baseball season you catch it, throw it and hit the MF’er!”

I’ll just put it like this. We haven’t played great competition so far. But there’s a bunch of teams that have not handled their business, so far, for whatever reason. We are handling business, and lots of kids are getting to show what they have, in large part , because the starters are handling theirs. Good problems.
