Joyce didn't show the same level of control as we saw in his last two outings.

It's 39 degrees, raining & hailing, the mound is a bit muddy, and the rosen bag (sp?) was soaking......I'll take 98-101 with the control he showed today any day. I'll add this, he threw 40-50 pitches in the bullpen while warming up. Our offensive onslaught of IONA in the bottom of the 6th took a long time. Plus, the kid feeds off the fans as well. There was like 50 people in the stands when he pitched. Probably family & friends. Add a couple thousand fans on a dry day, you're going to see a faster more precise kid. The cold & rain & muddy mound takes 'em all down a notch. Control on a day like today? C'mon man....

I will say this, he is destined for a bad day...nobody is perfect. But today?

Saw them at the Gorge in Washington state a week or so after Entwistle died.

Unfortunately, Oklahoma walked it off in the bottom of 10th. Quite a game from both teams.
