The Official #15 Tennessee vs Iona Weekend Series Thread (Friday 4:30PM) (Saturday 1PM) (Sunday 1PM)

One thing about IONA....regardless of how down they are, that dugout chirps loud with support for their teammates whether they're at bat or in the field. Whether they're getting shelled or getting out.

A big tip of the hat to them for not giving up, not getting down. They will be better for this experience when they go home and play teams in their MAAC conference.

Does anyone know the stat for most runs scored or run differential in a 3-game series? At 56-1 going into today we've gotta be close.

I thought I saw it a few days ago but now I can't find it.

I see even Old Dominion beat Iona 24-0 last weekend, The Gaels must be a certain kind of bad
I don’t know much about Old Dominion this season, but last year they were a one seed in a regional. They should have hosted, but the school messed up and didn’t apply to be a host. I think odds are they’ll be pretty good this year.

IMO, I think the new Iona coach bit off far more than they could chew in taking on two number one seeds from last year. They aren’t on Tennessee’s or ODU’s level so the results were predictable.

You are absolutely correct. Way deep into the games they’ve always been there for their teammates. They’re doing it the right way.

The Gails & Karens need to throw some strikes today. Can't walk 16 batters and expect to win.

I was a part-time hurler in an 8-9 year old league and would only walk 8-10 batters...and they were all really short.

I sat next to an Iona fan yesterday and heard the story as to why they are so bad. The school ran off the last coach and 13 players including almost every starter left. It was a sad situation they said.
