The Official #16 Tennessee @ #23 Arkansas Gam Thread, 4:00 PM ET, ESPN

Kentucky must be an afterthought as far as big guards lol im hoping for an evenly called game during tournament time that doesn’t hamstring the offense into going cold
TyTy sat on the bench. If you think that didn’t alter their D and their offensive flow, you’re wrong. Frankly they didn’t have big defensive guards covering the perimeter either. But yeah, refs. They called a bad game. We also missed 12 open looks under 10 feet. That wasn’t refs.

I hate to say it, but this was a game today where having Oliver would have been huge. He could have matched up well with Williams and also would have served as an offensive threat in the post. Uros was just so bad and the fact we had to rely on him was a killer.
Very true. Have to either switch or covering him from 15 in.

One wonders why our fans can’t except the idea that players not hitting wide open shots and getting whistled unfairly on offense doesn’t play into the context of their arguments when addressing Rick Barnes offense….but yeah other then that terrible take
Rick Barnes’ offense misses lots of layups and causes bad charge calls. Fire Barnes.

Ty Ty played most of the first half but his backup was big too…sorry for shooting holes in your theory. You are right sometimes the offense has an off night but I don’t attribute it to the other team having big guards…

You didn’t shoot any holes in anything. If you look at the best defensive guards we’ve played, you’ll find losses. KY game 2 isn’t that.

Cool story on Musselman's dad playing for Ray Mears.

Didn’t get to see the game bc I was at work again.
I knew if we lost this board would be flooded with the Rick Barnes haters and boy was a right.
Weird Where y’all been the past 8 wins tho?
We lost to an Arkansas team that is really good at home and a tough place to play after winning 8 straight in the sec. I think we’ll be alright people.

PS I’m not breaking new ground here. That’s the scouting report on us. Look at the defensive rating, and guard profile of Arkansas, Texas and Texas Tech. Then get back to me.

I think you meant "accept."

It was not being able to hit the open shots that stung the worst. Very reminiscent of the Texas Tech game to me.

You didn't watch the game. My eyes glaze over.

Arkansas flopped like champs, I'll give them that. They did nothing else of note. I'll take Alabama and LSU over both.

between halves not the last 8 minutes of the game. We passed up too many threes in the game. There was no confidence by individual players. You don't wait until 3 players get in foul trouble to adjust.... I think this looked more like the Texas and Texas Tech games to be honest of which we did not win either. Most of these adjustments were in pregame planning. It's not like he had not seen this before. Trust me will will see this in the tournament. Glad you asked......
Thanks Coach. We appreciate it. I’m sure Coach Barnes will give you a call.

Texas and Texas tech came down to the wire…both of those games could have went the other way, would we be having this conversation if we won? Those teams struggled offensively too do their big guards have trouble with our small guards lol this notion is ridiculous when you consider the open looks we missed. The offense is not a problem the consistency of our shooters are and having a very inconsistent front court hurts more

I don’t understand why our shots don’t fall when we play away from TBA. We are just very very bad on the road offensively. We had a **** maybe to win the sec today but now it’s very hard. I think we will beat Arkansas at home by 15 points.

Our three leading scorers in foul trouble for the entire second half while everyone else is afraid to drive the lane lest they be blown for a charge against Williams is going to affect the offense. That in combination with that powerhouse Arkansas offense is a recipe for disaster.

It shouldn’t be some big revelation that a college basketball team is a lot better at home than on the road. That’s pretty much all the teams.

I used to throw my Nintendo, Sega and PlayStation controllers and they would bounce off of the old TVs, but they were hosses. All I did was throw a 2 AA battery remote control against the TV. Like I said, back in the olden days, my TV would have broken the remote control. Just another example of me, becoming an old man, that acts like a dumba$$, occasionally (yeah right, half the time).

Very true. Good defensive teams get you put of your rhythm, and you question the simple things and the easy shots. We missed six shots under five feet undefended. We missed five open looks under fifteen feet. We missed several open threes. The three Santi missed in the first have moved so slowly, it was like a car wreck. He thought about it way too long.
