C’mon ON doesn’t belong on the “ not very good list” - that is ridiculous. Bailey will help us win some games this year, too if he doesn’t check out mentally. Plavsic is a plodder but I don’t know any team that has 13 studs on their team.

Uros is a matchup based player. He will help us at some point in the season and so will Bailey.

They are both valuable reserves with fouls to give that help to burn minutes. Uros was relentlessly trashed today, but without his minutes ORN fouls out much earlier and the results could have been far different.

I’m not the only one that said we should shorten the rotation and play the better players. That’s exactly what happened, we played BHH, Howell and Zeiglar more and gave less minutes to Bailey/ON (@TheMookieMonster said the exact same thing) and we won by 20.

This team has a ton of talent. Playing the dead weight who have experience but aren’t that good (Bailey/ON/Uros) isn’t good for the team and our prospects this year. Thankfully Rick did this in game 4, we shortened the rotation and got a great win.

ON has been far from dead weight. He has been our best big so far this season. He has scored double digits in most games, been our best rebounder and has shot the 3 bugs. He is also our best and most athletic post defender....BHH is not quite physically ready for that yet. ON, Fulk and BHH need the majority of minutes for the bigs.

It still doesn’t make what I said untrue. Bailey has been mostly a negative since SEC play last year and doesn’t need to be in the rotation. And while ON is useful BHH is better than him and Uros and needs more minutes. There was no need for Bailey to be in the rotation this weekend or Uros to play as much as he did yesterday. Barnes corrected it, shortened the rotation and adjusted and we had our best half when we played our best players.

I’m saying I didn’t care about the details. But I did see you take a shot at playing “talent” over experience. It’s ok- it’s just your thing. Taking the cake is trying to justify Cuonzo winning 20 games to compare Barnes.

I understand that some players are not as good as others, everybody knows it. I just don’t get the whole bashing of OUR guys. Everybody can see that Vescovi or Powell are probably better players than Bailey or BHH has a ton more upside than Uros, there’s no need to come on here and poop on them in every game thread.
If the guy is wearing orange and white, I’m rooting for him, regardless of the level of his talents.

About the only thing disappointing for me was that Mashack wasn’t involved today. I sure hope he is steadily brought along and doesn’t get frustrated over limited minutes this year. He has a ton of talent and isn’t being groomed to simply be a role player. He could be our best player in his 3rd or 4th year on RockyTop.

I listened to Rob Dauster and Jeff Goodman do analysis on a post-Mohegan Sun livestream, and they essentially talked about North Carolina the entire team and had one throwaway line about how we’re really not that great and this is more about North Carolina being really bad.

I can’t believe some people get paid tons of money for analysis like that.

I’ll admit that I certainly didn’t. I wasn’t sure how much we would see of Zeigler this year, if any. He definitely has brought some attention to himself and may be well known around the league by seasons end.
