I’ll admit that I certainly didn’t. I wasn’t sure how much we would see of Zeigler this year, if any. He definitely has brought some attention to himself and may be well known around the league by seasons end.
GBO!!
Right and is also part of a growing problem in sports overall. People talk out of their ass and nobody holds them accountable! I hear and see so much inaccuracy!I listened to Rob Dauster and Jeff Goodman do analysis on a post-Mohegan Sun livestream, and they essentially talked about North Carolina the entire team and had one throwaway line about how we’re really not that great and this is more about North Carolina being really bad.
I can’t believe some people get paid tons of money for analysis like that.
I’m just excited over the thought of ZZ being a 3rd or 4th year PG in this league.About the only thing disappointing for me was that Mashack wasn’t involved today. I sure hope he is steadily brought along and doesn’t get frustrated over limited minutes this year. He has a ton of talent and isn’t being groomed to simply be a role player. He could be our best player in his 3rd or 4th year on RockyTop.

We have Powell who is a better shooter and player than Bailey for that. I promise you, we don’t need Bailey to play for this team to be very good.
It’s just annoying because if you’re not considered an “elite” program you get largely ignored. It’s not good for the sport. They just talked about UNC for an entire segment and barely mentioned anything about Tennessee or their performance other than a subtle dig.
Powell may or may not be better than Bailey- I don’t think we really know for sure yet. People on this board were also saying Powell was better than Vescovi as recently as a few days ago. Powell did get the start today over Bailey so at the moment he is probably ahead in the pecking order but way too early to dismiss Bailey, imo. He did average 9-10 ppg last year. I am glad he is a Vol and Barnes will give him PT if he earns it and won’t if he doesn’t.
Completely agree about the situational stuff. I think Bailey is best suited for mop-up situations and we should use Powell when we need points..
I guess we all have our thing such as you defending Barnes at every end and making sure to defend him even when criticism is warranted. Have a great holidays!
I normally wouldn’t get in a war of words with a moderator…. Similar to the old adage about the media and buying ink by the barrel.ON isn’t as good as BHH though. ON should get some minutes but BHH is better.
Bailey is a losing basketball player. He just is. He doesn’t have any shot IQ, he can’t handle the ball, he doesn’t play hard on defense consistent. He slows the offense down. Good kid, but he doesn’t need minutes on this team. And with Ziegler’s breakout today there is zero reason Bailey should play.
