Unfortunately, after Round 1, bad offensive teams without a good post player are hard to find in the NCAA. It’s why Barnes has such a hard time going far in NCAA. Good teams can break down your defense and you have to be able to outscore people too.

I would hope for a Big East team in 2nd round or sweet 16. Watched some of the Marquette and UConn games and wasn’t very impressed. Small and not very athletic and they’re the class of that league.

I agree JJJ needs to complete this year and move on never going be any better than he is;a great guy but just to damn streaky. The same goes for Plasvic and the Finnish kid and Key and Vescovi just move on

Vescovi this the only one that I think could help the team next year with the right guys around him. I'm not sure how much better Aidoo can get either because I haven't seen much that gives me confidence.

I agree I was just venting Vescovi should return but the rest need to move on. JJJ has done his best here and takes so much negativity on here

You didn't ask me, but I lived thru the 4 corner offense and sat thru that...well...I can't call it a game...UT beat Temple 11-6. I'm fine with a shot clock.

Rick Barnes is trash. This team is almost unwatchable. It's just bunch of older college players without NBA potential, Julian Phillips should average 15 shots a game and theres no excuse for not playing B.J. Edwards more. Barnes doing his thing again, winning early meaningless games and collapsing when it matters.

While I'd have thought Edwards would have gotten more playing time early on the year, I can't say I've seen a lot from him that would warrant more minutes. As for Barnes being "trash", he's a HOF guy and I'd have to question how you'd describe our conga line of coaches before we hired Pearl? A bit of an over reaction dontcha think?

I've felt that way for the past 3 years, The games are boring, Barnes is a terrible in game coach, and he's proven that he's not good in the Big Dance. If the fans are happy with being top 25 and getting to the Sweet Sixteen every 3 or 4 years so be it.

Genius move or not, freshman leave early all the time without being projected in the lottery. We literally had a player on our team last year who did just that. And two players the year before that. Not sure why it’s a crazy concept

He isn’t a lottery pick but projected at #34. His plan was to play one yr and then NBA bound. Idk what he’s thinking now but could see him leave if he grades early 2nd round.

Couldn’t have said it better. A bunch of older college players that are not going to make money anywhere in the US playing basketball. We looked good in December as usual. Yes, the injuries hurt but I don’t think we do much more if everyone was healthy. All our bigs are mediocre at best. Barnes has done about all he can do here in Knoxville. Guard play, while he has been here, has been pretty good. Bigs have really struggled during his time in Knoxville. I’m ready for a young coach in Knoxville. After next weekend, I’m sure everyone will be saying the same thing. We win the first game, and then loose in second round. Go Vols.

This was a very inconsequential loss. The Selection Committee does not pay attention to these games when it comes to seeding. I would prefer the extra day of rest.
