I like Barnes’ move lately to have SV, KC, ZZ, JJJ and Fulkerson out there to close games. All decent free throw shooters and JJJ, ZZ and SV are really strong in the clutch. KC might be the least reliable on FT’s and that’s just odd. He has to work on that to be a PG at the next level.

Chandler ended the game one of four from the charity stripe. Missed both @ end of game when we were in double bonus. Made or Missed fouls shots impact close games in March.

Two huge keys to this win was owning the backboards and holding Kessler down to eight points and making the Auburn guards a non factor.

Great to finally get the six game losing streak to Auburn ended.

Auburns guards seem to be overrated imo, too out of control. Everytime they would shoot I was happy. Every time Smith touched the ball I wanted to grit my teeth. Luckily he went way too many possessions without touching the ball tonight. Go Vols!

Smith scored 4 points in the first 14+ minutes of the second half. I posted that during that stretch. He was being controlled by the Vol defensive efforts.

All teams play better against ranked opponents though-- Georgia almost beat Auburn. I take nothing for granted. Arky chargers are playing well, with refs help.

They got little help today at home against UK. They battled for that one. Williams had quite a few wtf moments.

Did anybody ever hear what they finally called on the play right before the half with Fulky? I thought I heard they made a ruling change during the half. Is that true? They can't move that foul to Santi if that is what they did because the call was a player control charge call, you know the one with the hand on the back of the head with a forward lunge with the other hand.

Did anybody get the whole truth?

They explained that on the broadcast coming back after the halftime highlights. They changed that call to Vescovi and another off of Fulky...the record showed three, Barnes got it reduced to one.

Great observation. I kept wondering why Smith wasn’t getting touches. If I had been them he would see the ball every time down court. Glad they ignored him at times. And the TV guys said more than once that the one weakness Auburn has is that their guards don’t shoot well and especially 3’s. That could cost them in the Dance if they run into a hot team.
