The Official #17 Tennessee vs. #5 Villanova Game Thread, 1:00 PM ET, ESPN News

Think about the Tenn fans that were in attendance today. God bless them
Tubbs family gonna be tired come Monday . They gotta hustle to get that flight back to Knoxville for the football game tonight and then have a quick turnaround for TLV’s game in TBA tomorrow . It will be hard for them to simultaneously attend that game and the men’s consolation game back in Connecticut at the same time but I am confident they’ll somehow manage .

35 minutes on Fulk and he’d be dead after a game and a half. Give JJJ those 10 minutes at the 4 and then I’d be satisfied with what you laid out
When the guys who we need to make shots are making shots, we don’t need anyone to play 35. Just didn’t happen today obviously.

Chandler 30/ Ziegler 10
Vescovi 30/ Powell 10
James 15/Powell 20/Mashack 10
BHH 25/ Fulk 10/ORN 10
Fulk 25/Aidoo/10/Uros 5
This is honestly my rotation moving forward.
35 minutes is too much for Fulk rn. James will never get only 15 minutes, he’s by far our best defender and one of our best rebounders, he’s a solid passer and one of our leaders, just in a slump shooting rn

The most sobering thing for me… Fulkerson looks like the same guy from last year.

Fulky has been the same guy for 4.5 years. He had half a season where he looked like something more than a high level role player. Time to accept that was a hot streak and outlier rather than some breakthrough.

Josiah-Jordan James is 4-22 from the floor this season. He's 1-15 from three. At some point, Tennessee is going to have to find a way to get spacing/shooting for Kennedy Chandler to be effective, and playing two bigs with JJJ is not the answer.

Only positive for me coming out of this game is Mashack is a competitor who was playing hard at the end and he has elite athleticism.

I said after game 1 or 2 that I would like to see them go small with JJJ at the 5. Today would have been a nice opportunity to see that lineup. But that might be way too contemporary for Barnes to try.

I wanna see more small ball line ups with JJJ at the 4. KC, Vescovi, Powell, JJJ, Fulk. No reason why we shouldn’t see this lineup at least some point in each game

He’s very similar to pons but I think he’s a little shorter. He’ll be a contributor in a couple years for sure
