Disagree all you want. I never said ALL Vol fans don't appreciate him. Comments like "he sucks 50% of the time" and saying "he hasn't live up to the billing" just show not only a lack of basketball knowledge, but a lack of emotional maturity, and disproportionate expectations to believe a freshman PG is going to be perfect at this level. You have to accept the growing pains and not forget all the good he brings when he makes a mistake. Far too many of the emotional midgets in this these game threads constantly dogging him can't grasp that.
are you nutz?

when the freshman point guard is giving what he is giving………I can assure you……….he’s “panning out.” Not to mention the D he gives.
Fair point- good post. 67% from the foul line is it freshman related as I still think a point guard should be close to 80%. But Chandler averages less than three turnovers a game and before tonight about 40% from field goal (2 point shots). Most are layups, tear drops or inside the paint but still a good per cent age. The Vols won’t go deep into the tourney without quality play from Chandler.
And you are correct that most fans post while emotions are stirring. My son is a freshman @ UT and he reminded me that the fans care (and more emotional) more about the outcome of a game than the players. The players care but they must shrug off a bad play or game and prepare for the next one. The players care but again, they must prepare for the next one.
These are young men who will be @ Up Town bar in a few hours. We fans need to chill and not take sports as serious as we do, include MYSELF.
They've shown improvement and Stackhouse seems to have a higher coaching ceiling than Bryce Drew did at Andy. Pippen has helped him a lot by being there but their team has more talent and a lot better record than last year and plays much harder....given several good teams tough games.
Stackhouse could end up being what Penny should have been as a head coach.....maybe not as strong of a recruiter (cheater) but a mature, better coach who will recruit very well if he continues to make Vandy respected more. Penny has had two top classes and has looked like a much worse coach than Stack, even against weaker competition and with Memphis having other advantages over the Andy job. Not to mention the difference in how they carry themselves.
They still shouldn't pose too great a threat to us most years while Barnes is here but I do think Stackhouse makes them at least a mid pack SEC contender instead of the bottom feeder they have been recently. Stackhouse could end up being one of the better high level NBA players turned college coaches in recent years.
Yeah, the poor free-throw shooting is probably the most reasonable criticism of Chandler, and one I agree with. He has to be better and more composed at the line.Fair point- good post. 67% from the foul line is it freshman related as I still think a point guard should be close to 80%. In all fairness, I'm not saying the cat is a bad basketball player.....
He's just not, right now, the guy that everyone thinks he is.
Actually no. 5* rating means he has the talent to project as a high level player in college and good chance to play at the next level. I don't remember any evaluation of Chandler that stated he would "takeover a game" . He was noted to have great speed and passing and exceptional vision. Decent shooting and limited size. Sorry if your expectations were for something different.Stats are great.....
When has he put a team on his back and "created a win"......
Isn't that what 5* lottery picks are supposed to do?
I agree Chris and it appears to be an inability to maintain a consistent routine. I can almost call his misses when the ball leaves his hand. He appears to rush this and flip the ball up there when he struggles.Yeah, the poor free-throw shooting is probably the most reasonable criticism of Chandler, and one I agree with. He has to be better and more composed at the line.
