The Official 2014 Offseason Thread

This list just got retarded with those first 3:

11 - L Aldridge
12 - D Rose
13 - T Parker
14 - J Noah
15 - D Howard

I'm pleased that they put Noah that high. It's pretty funny to read through the comments every time Slam names a player. People lose their minds.

My favorite comment so far is when someone said Aldridge has the best post game in the NBA....2/3 of his shots come from 10'+, and he shot 36% from 3'-10'. Pretty much a non-existent post game.

I still want to see a % after pass on shots.

That would tell us more about who the best passer is.

Kind of. It depends on who is taking the shot. If you're passing to Dion Waiters, he's not going to make it.

It would help the analysis, but I still think looking at APG and A:TO combined is superior to % after pass.

6 - R Westbrook
7 - C Anthony
8 - B Griffin
9 - J Harden
10 - K Love

So I guess that means:

1 - L James
2 - K Durant
3 - C Paul
4 - S Curry
5 - A Davis

Durant is a better scorer, but not by much. LBJ is a better passer, defender, and rebounder. He also has 2 rings. Very few will say KD over LBJ, and Slam definitely won't be one of them.

60% after pass compared to 40% after pass is a big difference in two players overall assist stats.

We really need to know this kind of stat. What if every time john Stockton passed the ball and there was a fg attempt, the player taking the shot hit it 65 % of the time, compared to Magic's team mate only hitting 50 % of fg attempts. It makes a difference and I want to know.

That is a big difference, but I'd be willing to bet that's not the difference between any 2 comparable PGs (like Magic and Stockton). It's going to be more like 48% and 50%. That's my guess, anyways.

That's just too much variation to seem realistic, especially when you consider the difference between the best team and the worst team in the league is only .069

I've thought they should do that for a long time because I like the idea of better, healthier veterans, come playoff time. Also, for a guy who can only handle a 10 year career before his body breaks down, 20 games per year really adds up, and he may stretch that into 15 years.

Players wouldn't like the drop in pay, though. Only old, rich dudes like Nowitzki will want it.

I'm going to do the first game I get to watch this year to see what the difference is.

Pg vs pg

Oh yeah...if you're talking about 1 game, the variance could be as much as 100%, but I'm talking about over a season. Sorry. Miscommunication.
