The Official 2014 Offseason Thread

And have nothing on TV November-December? No chance.

I'd rather the season go into July-August to make a seamless transition to and from football season.

I don't care much for baseball so those summer months without basketball are torture.

I've thought they should do that for a long time because I like the idea of better, healthier veterans, come playoff time. Also, for a guy who can only handle a 10 year career before his body breaks down, 20 games per year really adds up, and he may stretch that into 15 years.

Players wouldn't like the drop in pay, though. Only old, rich dudes like Nowitzki will want it.
And Lebron

MJ said that "I love both of those guys [Lebron and Dirk], but as an owner who played the game, I loved playing,''

Lebron haters are killing LBJ about it (and of course, leaving Dirk out of it), saying this is the difference between MJ and LBJ.

People (including MJ) seem to have forgotten that MJ chose to sit out about 150 games in his prime....voluntarily.

Jordan missed 240 games and played a total of 1251 games (including playoffs).

LBJ has missed 60 games and has played a total of 1060 games (including playoffs).

240? He missed the majority of his second season, but rarely missed a game otherwise.

Edit: nm I see that you are counting retirement as "missing games" Talk about being a hater.

He's talking about "wanting to play" and he stepped away from the game...twice by the age of 34. I think the retirement years are more pertinent to the conversation than the injuries.

Ftr I hate myself for using the word hater, it's such overused term that rarely applies.

I think it's the perfect term. I think people are far too critical of others, in general. Not just sports. Labeling them haters puts them in their place and makes them rethink their judgmental actions.

People use the word hater every time their favorite athlete gets criticized. It's extremely overused.

If someone actually hates someone, calling them a hater doesn't put them in their place or make them rethink their judgemental actions. And to think calling someone a hater does either is mastadon delusionalism and mile high foolishness.

Did Jordan want to play in 1994? It's an easy question. I don't know anybody that likes to dispute no-brainer statements as much as you do.

How the **** would I know MJ wanted to do? I questioned missed, then realized what you were counting, and edited the post. So I made a hater joke, stop being a spazz.
