The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

After ******* that Raven holster for a couple nights it's broken in real well. Thanks for the recommendation.

Check out the Sig's first striker entry, the 320. They're all about the same price point if I remember correctly.

ETA- looks like the sig goes for $100 more on buds actually.

Looking at either the HK VP9 or Glock 17. Suggestions on which is superior?

The Walther PPQ is probably the best striker fired gun out of the box. If you are thinking of shooting competitively then the Glock 17 or the Springfield XD. The thing about a Glock is there are so many companies who support a Glock. You can find a dozen different companies who sell everything on a Glock. Also, true but less so of Springfield. Springfield makes theirs a lot closer to comp ready than Glock 34 but costs more. VP9 is a good gun, over priced but a good gun. Not as good as Walther out of the box.

P.S.-Also, Sig 320 is a good gun. Don't like Sig's customer service. Glock probably has best customer service. The Sig is the 250 except striker fired. Kind of a little blockier than the 17. The 17 is a great gun but is made to customize and tinker with. Very easy to work on.

I had a VP9 and ended up selling it. I shoot with a high grip and I kept engaging the slide stop by accident. It's a great pistol though, 100% reliable.

I've had a lot of glocks, it's always been my go to pistol. Mags are a lot cheaper for the glock, accessories are more readily available for the glock as well.
The VP9 is a very popular pistol, I look for the accessories market to get up to speed soon. Mags, HK thinks their mags are made of gold apparently.
I will say, if you're gonna carry the pistol, the glock 19 is a better option than the 17 imo. Easier to conceal.

Best of luck deciding.

Hadn't consider the Walther but will certainly give it a look. Just looking for a new-to-me 9mm as the only i've owned was a Browning Hi-power that' I'm kicking myself for ever selling.

Oh my! The Browning High Power, the Cadillac of 9mm pistols. I have two, great pistols. A bit over priced these days, but a great pistol nonetheless.

My only complaint about the Walther PPQ is the size, but it could be that I'm used to smaller, more CC friendly pistols. I really like the Walther PPS. That's a true CC pistol.

The trigger on the early models I shot. And the aesthetics or lack thereof.

It takes some getting used to if your used to a crisp single action like the 1911. Once you learn to manipulate it's travel, it's pretty darn easy to shoot.

Without a doubt. The Glock 19 I've shot but it feels too compact. Only two i have currently are a 1911 and a S&W .357. Opinions vary of course, but if you are only going to have two, well...

I used to ask why Glock didn't make the trigger a little more lighter and crisper. Then when I bought one I found out. That would destroy part of the fun people have modifying their Glocks which is a huge draw for them. I've already modified my triggers in both my Glocks. Now the triggers are better than the PPQ or VP9.
