The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Got the wife a Taurus 38 special protector revolver. She liked the feel of it the best.

I got a Taurus Millennium G2 9mm.

I also picked up a shell holder for my 870 tactical.

Step dad got himself a pretty damn sweet handgun today.

Kimber Master Carry Ultra

Also have a friend with one. It feels great in the hand and the sights are as good as you can find. Was really surprised at how light it was. It's on my wish list.

Got the email conf that my upper receiver has been shipped. Oohhh.... I can hardly contain myself!

Great feeling huh! The old GM from Guns and Ammo just opened a new gun shop in Bartlett(suburb of Memphis) it's on Whitten rd.
He has great prices on lowers, spikes Tactical too!

I need some recommendations for some good yet inexpensive practice rounds for my wife's .38 revolver and my 9mm. Both Taurus. Also the same on self defense ammo.

Have a look at Walmart. They usually have pretty good deals on 9mm and .38 special range ammo.

For self defense, I use Winchester ranger ammo or Remington golden saber. Hornady makes good self defense rounds too.
Good luck.

Walmart usually has winchester 100 round value packs for 9mm at a good price. That's typically what I grab. If also grab a box of tula just for giggles. I like to make sure my gun will fire the cheap Russian **** in case I ever actually need it.

This is for practice rounds. For self defense just find something your gun will shoot reliably.

For the money the PMC Bronze line has been good to me for just shooting. (I reload but still need to get new brass cycled in from time to time) The Remington UMC line is pretty well liked for what it is and is generally priced well. Good old Winchester "white box" can be bought in "value packs" that are pretty economical on a per shot basis.

Thanks. I have the Hornaday rounds. They were $28/box at Academy sports. I'll try Walmart. The winchester is what I have for practice. They were $26 for 100 rds. I guess I knew more than I thought.

So I went to the DMV and paid for my application and they set me up an appt to be fingerprinted. Was fingerprinted and have confirmation and receipts for both.

But I just got a letter today from the department of handgun permits that I was lacking both, but they had received my online application. Wtf?

The Prvi Partizan ammo is pretty cheap and ultra reliable for range ammo.

For self defense, I go with the Golden Sabers or Federal HST.

Just a note.

Just got some prvi 9mm in from Aim the other day, had 3 dead primers in a lot of 500. I like that though, tap, rack, bang drills. Perhaps loaded on Friday? It's usually ultra reliable as you say. I love their .223.

Most of my bulk storage was picked up a couple of years ago. I haven't shot any of their recent stuff.

Their M193 is pretty hot. Just a pain to reload.

Unfortunately, I don't reload. Don't have the time.

That colt 9mm shot like a dream btw. Smacking myself for not jumping on the 9mm 1911 bandwagon earlier.

Honestly, I'd have saved some money and got the Rock myself. I know it's a Colt and all, but those Rocks are sweet.

But, "Quality makes it a Colt" that's why you have to stone the piss out of the thumb safety and replace the plunger spring and tube In order to be able to operate the thumb safety.

Colt is very hit and miss. Guess that's why they're bankrupt.

Have you put the Bob Vogel trigger in any of your Glocks?

Got a new Glock 42 for my wife to carry...nice little gun. Thinking about picking up a 43 for myself...I carry a 27 on my ankle now, but was thinking of going a little smaller so I can go to my waistband if I want...

I called this morning and was told they had already corrected their error and I was approved on the 8th. She said I'd have it within a week. Pretty excited.
