The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

I had a VP9 and ended up selling it. I shoot with a high grip and I kept engaging the slide stop by accident. It's a great pistol though, 100% reliable.

I've had a lot of glocks, it's always been my go to pistol. Mags are a lot cheaper for the glock, accessories are more readily available for the glock as well.
The VP9 is a very popular pistol, I look for the accessories market to get up to speed soon. Mags, HK thinks their mags are made of gold apparently.
I will say, if you're gonna carry the pistol, the glock 19 is a better option than the 17 imo. Easier to conceal.

Best of luck deciding.

Damn, the sky is falling. You didn't tell him to buy a 17 and cut the grip?

Ah, maybe next time lol
The G17 has entirely too much grip imo. Feels better to me with the grip cut down to G19 specs. Surprisingly enough, it's a very popular modification for the G17.

and well thought out weapon. Difficult not to buy. My next purchase will probably be a G19 because I have fallen in love with Glocks but this is a great gun. This is the M1 by the way.

I have a Walther PPQ (M1) and the trigger is awesome. The reset is fantastic.

It makes me a way better shooter than I normally am.

Agree to on the ergos - as good as the HK P30L I had but the trigger is night and day.

Can't say enough good about the trigger.

Great video. Looks normal in that guys hand, but to me the gun feels huge. It feels nice, just different than the guns I normally shoot. I'll try to get my hands on one to shoot.

I have the smallest backstrap on and it fits as well as a double stack can fit my girl hands.

It's more the contours of the grip and the angle to the slide that works - very natural pointer.

I'm not sure I'd carry it though given how light the trigger is. I'm already a little skittish about carrying something that isn't DA/SA or has a safety like a 1911 and this thing is light for a striker.

Can't remember if I asked this before or not.

What's the proper sight picture for a snub nose revolver? Is the front blade supposed to be flat relative to the sides of the channel that serves as the back sight? It seems the front blades are relatively tall for that and would point the muzzle downwards.

I was looking at a LCR at the gun shop and the kid behind the counter said you don't really line them up because it's meant for short range. I don't doubt that is the best use but it sure seemed like he was making it up and didn't know how you are supposed to use the sights.

I'll hang up and listen.

First mistake was listening to gun store attendants. It's like Vandy fans discussing a winning football team.

Anyway, yes, lined up between the blades (even for a small pistol like the LCR) is the correct sight picture.

Speaking of DA/SA, you might be able to answer a question I have about the 1965 Walther Ppk I recently purchased. I haven't had a chance to go shoot it yet, but when pulling the trigger (unloaded) to make sure everything was working properly, I noticed a difference in this gun compared to my other Ppk's and Bersa Thunders.

The trigger won't pull unless the gun is cocked. So basically, safety off, trigger won't come back. Now, cock the gun, trigger pulls and feels wonderful. Is this how they were made back then, or should that trigger still pull, not cocked?

Oh I knew he was full of crap - just trying to get the correct info

between I get. Top of blade even with top of trough/groove/whatever is what I'm asking if that wasn't clear.

Should pull I would think. DA is with uncocked. Maybe it's got some empty mag situation where it won't pull unless there's a loaded mag?

Leaning towards a Remington 870, but I'll listen to suggestions.

If I had the money it would be a benelli.

Can't go wrong at all there, I always have at least 2!
I will never own another benelli , bad customer service experience with my nova and a sbe,
I shoot a Winchester sx2 for all fowl hunting needs, I picked up a 3 barrel set that came with a slug barrel/24" turkey barrel/ 28" barrel I slaughter dove with, for 250$ and 8 choke tubes .

My next shotgun will be an o/u , hopefully a citori

I keep one of my 870 with a pistol grip and adjustable stock and the other is wood and just pretty , I'm practicing checkering wood to lay out a nice design on the stock.

I've heard a lot good things on the beretta a400 semi, just pricey.

Yes, flush with the top of the trough.

Apologies for not being clear on my response.

ETA: Yeah, what DTH said.

You don't want a Citori. You want a Beretta.

Went and shot it today. It worked in DA, but with one hell of a trigger pull haha. SA was absolutely beautiful. Love the pistol.
