The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

I think I'm going to get one of the GSG STG 44's or MP40's. Those things look sweet in the review videos I've watched. I'm a big fan of the WW2 era guns.

I have one of the STG44's, get it, it's sweet. Very fun to mess around with. Even comes in a wooden crate, it's packaged perfect.

I'm glad to hear that from an unbiased source. I love the wooden crate it comes in. Where did you buy yours? I've never ordered a gun online and can't seem to find one in a store around here.

I got mine from a local store here Birmingham Pistol Wholesale.

Check out gunbroker.com buying a firearm online is easy, just contact the shop you want to have your gun shipped to, they will handle the ffl stuff for you, for a small fee, usually around $20-$35.

From what I've gathered through my research on the ar10, the weak points are the extractor and ejector. Pretty much standard on an ar platform though. DD has a duel ejector, I find that interesting.

My main interest in the DD is the weight, DD is known for making some incredibly light rifles. I don't mind the recoil so much, as long as I can stay on target. At the end of the day, it's all about controlling the recoil impulse.

GV, I think you're right. That rifle may be just a tad warm lol
The thing with knights is, they're heavy as all hell. Lol

I'm not leaving the M14 platform, I just like new things and would like to see how the DD would compete against my current rifles.

If you do go with an AR-10, I'd suggest this aftermarket piece:

Heavy Buffers | Products | .308 Carbine

Works like a champ.

Cool, thanks.

I've got kind of a weird setup on my AR-10 carbine. I've got the Slash's HB with a rifle length spring and the PWS FCS30 muzzle brake. It works perfectly fine with the 16 inch upper, but prohibits bolt lack back on the 20 inch heavy barrel setup I use with the lower. No big deal though since I'm not using it in a "tactical" mode anyway.

The brake/spring/HB combo smooths the recoil right out on the carbine, but the folks to the left and right of me aren't happy with the deafening noise and concussion from the brake. :)

Cool! Did you go through gunbroker?

I actually had my local pawn shop order it. I knew they had carried GSG before, so I figured it was an easy thing for them to get. Not to mention I recently bought that 65' PPK from them for $1400, so I figured they'd make it happen for me lol.

Great! I'm sure you'll be very pleased with it. I love mine. If you've not handled one before, I think you'll find the weight surprising.

Note: A standard K98 sling is the proper sling for it. Really sets it off.
