The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

I have been thinking seriously on the fnx tac.

I don’t currently have a Double/single 45, and I’ve never had an fnx.

Once you shoot it and get a good feel about it let us know your thoughts……I mean I know it’s BIG, but other than that.

congrats as well.
Unloaded at least, it’s surprisingly light.

I’ve had my eye on one for awhile, it finally worked out.

I’m a big fan of FNH. I now have 6 (SCAR, 2 FN-15s, PS90, 509 Tac and the FNX Tac).

I also like the HK. I think you got the best version as well. To each their own but the long barrel version looks odd…..to me the 8.6 is perfect. That one just seems to have more “usability” over the 4”.

Also that didn’t take too long at all.

After carrying an MP5 for a bit deployed, I wanted one as soon as it was announced. Already have a brace for it too.

I’m pretty much a fan of everything firearms (except Hi-Point lol)

Nonsense.
You can beat the hell out of someone with a Hi-Point.

Yep……..but unless you turn it upside down……you’ll be beating them with a very high bore axis.

don’t get me wrong……they usually shoot, they don’t usually jam (unlike my Walther p22 target…..it’s like homemade jam)…….but their like pot metal, the ergonomics are terrible, their heavy and single stack……..not to mention they look uglier than a beretta px storm.

Now days for just a bit more you can get some quality firearms.

I could be wrong…….but I heard the guy who designed the Creed for Walther came over from Hi-Point.

don’t get me wrong…..I love Walther, I have a couple, and their usually beautiful…….but the Creed…….wow, it’s like HI-Point and the PPQ made an illegitimate baby.

I've heard that Hi-Point's 9mm carbine is a pretty good reliable PCC.

My son has had 2. A gen 1 and gen 2. Both were as reliable as any semi could be. Both were 100% with factory magazines and aftermarket “non-curved” magazines. The funky bent magazines were not reliable.

They were as accurate as could be expected…..which was good.

However they are fairly heavy for what they are. They only hold 10 rounds……..but they could get the job done.

I’ve seen many videos on them and usually the “unbiased” reviews are positive for the most part…….given what they are…..they will never be beautiful (which really doesn’t matter), they are single stack (hence their reliability), and their heavy and bulky for a small 10 shot carbine……but a cheap way to have a little pistol caliber carbine I guess.

Coincidentally, I saw a video on YouTube about that gun the other day. TIFWIW.

I hate videos like this.

I do not particularly like Hipoints. I don’t own one. Their not made well, their ugly, and for just a bit more there are certainly better options.

However this guy isn’t unbiased in the least. If you want to do these type videos……at least “try” to seem slightly unbiased.

He is using a magazine, which he “knows” is unreliable, then showing folks…..hey the gun jams, hey this thing is very unreliable. The guy also knows the factory 10 round magazines and their normal extended magazines feed well…….but he certainly isn’t going to show you that.

Satirical videos are fine……..but when folks make one disguised as a “review” video……that’s down right not cool.

not just this guy, not not just this firearm….lots do it to lots of firearms.

That carbine, certainly isn’t “good” (although it can be acceptable), however in no way the the carbine as bad as he is making it out to be.

From my observation he is a fair critic. He has reviewed bargain guns in other videos and gave them their due, including a hi point handgun.

Using a different magazine may have led to better feeding results but wouldn't fix the problem of light primer strikes. Hi Point sent him the gun to review so he likely got a hand-picked example and yet it totally failed almost immediately.

Every instance in this video the guy is or is trying to make fun of the firearm……..nothing wrong with that…..unless your trying to claim it’s a “review.”

I never stated this guy does this in every or any “other” video.

However he comes into this biased, doesn’t try to hide it, he exaggerates some of the stuff, he wants the firearm to fail and does what he can to make it fail…….not “does what he can to make it run.”

I’ve got no dog in this; however I can show probably 20 videos of these running great, and even being thrown around, dragged in mud, and running fine……on straight single stack magazines.

This guy knows firearms……and he knows that firearm. He knows they run for the most part. He doesn’t like it, he highlighted it…..it’s that simple.

Yeah, I don't have a particular opinion of Hi Point either. Never owned one and never fired one.

I don't see how he tried to make it fail. He tested the gun as it was sent to him by the manufacturer and it performed abysmally. It's probably hard to do a thorough review of a gun when it just stops firing after about 100 rounds.

1929 Model 11 in 20 gauge.
I love old shotguns
Little crack in the stock that looks worse in the picture than it really is.

I've got this same gun that belonged to my Father. In my gun safe and gets cleaned twice a year! I remember how frustrating it was when I started hunting with him. He would get off two shots before I could get off one with my 410,:)

I talked to a guy who's friend owned a gun store and told him they stopped carrying them because the repair business was non-existent. TIFWIW.

I highly doubt their doing much “repair” on $50 to $100 (cost) firearms.

They simply replace them.

They have been around almost 30 years. They have a lifetime warranty.

If you bought one in 1992…….your warranty is almost 30 years running.

They are handguns for $100-$175, and carbines from $200-$300………what does anyone expect? Seriously?
