The Official 2nd Amendment Appreciation Thread

Thanks for all the helpful comments! I don't have to have anything right this minute. But now, I have a good list of weapons so that I don't seem like a total DA when I go into the dealers. I know that they laugh when females walk in. Biggest problem in this area is finding ammo.

Learned, last night, that my SIL (major surprise) has a Smith 380. She's willing to let me practice with it and has access to land where there are plenty of things to plink at...snakes, cans, bears. I think I'll stay away from the bears.

JoAllan: You are right. CTS procedure is not a big deal. I've seen it performed open and via arthroscope. I could probably do it myself if I trusted my left hand more. Surgery is certainly an option; I just have to jump through the insurance hoops. But I am tired of dropping things and the electric shock pain.

kiddiedoc: I live in Kingsport. I cannot believe I just shared that, but you asked. Ortho doc's name is Youssef. Tried to do due diligence by researching him. Bottom line: you are still confined to your insurance's in-network providers.

Okay, do not flame me, because it's my first time into this thread, and I have an earnest question. Point: I have a Glock 19 and am proficient. It was a gift, and I like having it for personal protection. Problem: Have developing issues with carpal tunnel syndrome. I am right hand dominant. Question: What comparable handgun (with magazine) can I get that is lighter in weight? I've tried to research this on internet, and it is confusing. Thought someone might know from personal experience. Thanks.

You might check out the H&K VP9. Not much better on the weight side, but the grip replacement can really help.

Well, if you did come looking you might like what you saw. Not being a flirt, just a smart aleck.

Order ammo online. Is is about the cheapest thing to do. You can order from Palmetto State - they are usually pretty quick about getting it there. You can also order on Sig Sauer’s website - they have .380 available.

Glock 43x, slide works slide, Glock internals and small parts, Swampfox Sentinel, AmerGlo sights, talon pro grips, 3D printed magwell, shield mags, stock trigger, Ghost bar, polished striker could use a scallop undercut but so far seems quite a bit better than stock.

I prefer the Vector rmsc pattern which is currently on my Taurus (much larger window and shake awake as well). So I’ll probably change them out.
That is hot

If folks are looking for ammo definitely check Freedom Munitions.

They have most normal calibers in stock and are usually cheaper. Some of the HP’s and rifle rounds might not seem much cheaper but they usually come in 50 round boxes.

They have new ammo, some factory ammo and some of their house reloads.

So I traded the Armalite SuperSASS. Ended up picking up a Glock 23 (which I've had before) with a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel (obviously only a partial trade). I was originally going to flip it, but I think I'm going to keep it.

If you're considering a 380 take a look st the Sig P238. Beautiful gun. My wife loves it. Easy to rack, 1911 style, low recoil, and easy to get back on target. Pricey but Academy had a model with night sights included.

A buddy of mine bought one of these a while back. I had the chance to run quite a few rounds through it and it’s very nice.

DSA SA58 18" Traditional Profile Barrel, Fixed Stock Classic Edition Carbine Rifle - DS Arms
I’m in the spot now where I imagine a lot of people wind up where I am weighing whether I really want to spend the money on a FN collectible or buy a new DSA. So much conflicting info on DSA. The other option is to try and get a SA 48 or 4800 off one of the auction sites, which would probably be a little more than DSA but still a hell of a lot less than FN. I will probably see if anything shakes loose at MTMC show Easter weekend and then turn to online.

*TMCA show.
