never had a sig

If you could only get one, which one would it be, and for background, I'm more a fan of .45 1911's

I have a p232 and p226. The former is a Walther PPK clone of sorts (.380). The latter is the service pistol, full-size 9mm. If I had to guess, the 226 is probably the most known Sig with the MK25 (Navy Seal) version being very popular.

Not sure how their 1911s stack up for the money. They make a p220 which is a .45 version of the p226.

Their 1911s are awesome in my experience. It is way more accurate than I am. The only problem is the fact they have a slightly oversized slide and with polymer holsters you could have fitment issues. But with leather holsters it's not as big a deal. Also some don't like the aggressive checkering, but I'm actually more fond of a pistol you can grab hold of and it doesn't want to let go.

I'd highly recommend the Sig to anyone looking for a good quality 1911 but won't want to break the bank.

Either a Sig 1911 or a P227 with the E2 grip (not sure if that's standard or not) and an SRT trigger as previously mentioned.

I own the 225, 226 and 229 and have shot the 220, 239 and 232. I have to say my favorite for 9mm is probably the 229 with an E2 grip and SRT. The 227 looks promising since it's not got the gianormous grips like a lot of double stack .45s.

is that the single stack 226? heard it was a good one to track down.

It's actually a surplus German P6, but same thing really. I just use the 225 nomenclature so there's no confusion.

The DA trigger is probably the horrid I've ever had the displeasure of pulling in my life. SA is okay and is decently accurate. Very slim as well, almost concealable. And yes, they do make a SRT for it, but I can't see dropping another hundred bucks into something I rarely shoot.

I notice the prices are rising pretty quick on these. I think I picked mine up for about $350. Gunbroker price is well north of $500 now.

So, because I have a weakness for guns in general and lever guns in particular, I ordered a Mossberg 464 in 30-30. My totally reasonable justification is that I don't have a 30-30 rifle with top ejection .

Haven't posted in here in a while. IWI Tavor that I just finished building out last week. Still waiting on the Geiselle trigger pack to be released. The last pic shows a length comparison (with suppressor attached) to my 14.5" AR. Can't wait to take her out. :)

I've always liked how the BP design can incorporate so much barrel in something that's so short overall.

Beautiful bull pup. Is that the s&g kit?

Wow. Nice setup.

Thank you for this post. Although a gun owner (but not necessarily a gun aficionado) I've always wondered what was the point of the magazine being behind the trigger. Maybe it's just me, but it's not as aesthetically pleasing and seems more pragmatically cumbersome. But it just dawned on me reading your post: it's to enable a longer barrel and rifling (within a more compact space).

Science!
