Yes it would have been. It wasn’t the right call Saturday given how little time was on the clock. It would have been a catch and shoot with probably no chance to step into a clean shot which is what Mashack got. Thankfully the refs were asleep at the wheel and didn’t see Barnes and Zeigler screaming for a timeout.

With that being said, it wasn’t a bad call at all tonight given the shot we got out of the timeout which was what my point was. My post had nothing to do with Saturday so not sure why that even entered the discussion.

it didnt - I said No TO tonight let ZZ shoot the 3 and if he misses get the follow up - same as at Auburn, but it didnt work out since the shot was from the corner - tonight was a better angle for ZZ

These last two games gave us the opportunity to be seeded #1 in arguably the most favorable bracket toward a final four run in recent history IMO. We just can’t have nice things. We’ll now get seeded in Duke’s region and Flagg will Brakefield us if we get far enough to play them. BVS kicking in maybe? LOL

We’d be #2 in the Midwest opposite Houston before we’re #2 in the East opposite Duke.

I agree that trashing the team is an inappropriate response. I think it’s OK to be very frustrated though.

Who isn’t frustrated? Saying “this team can’t make a run”, “ this was such a Tennessee thing to do”etc is just an absurd reaction from so many in here. Counting this team out from making a tournament run because they lost to a 20 win SEC team on the road? After going ok the road at A&M and winning and beating a top 6 Bama team to even be in this spot?

Even with the calls not going our way AT ALL, we still had a chance to win. Make our free throws and remember that help defense is allowed and this is a different forum tonight.

My biggest gripe is offense. Without ZZ & Igor Tn ran hard screens and drove the ball and fed Okpara and opened up 3s and they looked like an offense is suppose to look. The very next week they fall back into hurry and get the ball over half court and use up the shot clock and take bad 3s. I have no ideal what ZZ is doing, he drives the lane and most times he has an open floater or layup and he kicks back out for a 3. We just have no idenity on offense. This game they pushed the ball and opened up a 8 point lead and then went right back to slowing it down and within 30 seconds the game was tied. They pushed the ball a lot in the A&M game and they looked like an offense. If this teams plays slow in the tournament then they wont last long.Just dont see it.They look good playing fast. They looked like the #1 team when they played fast against Baylor earlier in the year and I thought this team an offense can beat any team.

Would have liked to have seen if Mashack could have repeated the magic. Just kind of sickens you to lose on a missed layup. Tonight probably kills any shot at a one seed. But depending on the draw, the first #2 seed could be better than the last #1.

Florida is a deeper better team, .they have much better chance to get to a Final 4. They put it on Bama at home

They sure did, on Senior Night, with bama coming off that loss to The Vols, and Auburn staring them in the face on Saturday. They took the best bama had and didn't flinch. Dang florida might just win it all.
