It's ok to be mad we lost. We likely just fumbled an opportunity to secure a #1 seed. That doesn't mean we aren't proud of this team and support them. Just a little frustrated in the moment. This may be Barnes last year. Time is running out. Urgency is growing. We all want to see Barnes do the impossible. We just want to believe it can happen. But we did get a little exposed that 2nd half even if Ole Miss had a ton of fortunate bounces.

I have a feeling Barnes is gone after this season along with pretty much every scholarship player.

Love the optimism but if Florida wins on Saturday they going to be the last #1 seed probably. Don’t think the tourney will have much impact for the top seeds.

It led to about as good of a shot as you could ask for. In this case, it seems like the right call based on the shot we got even though the shot was missed.

Lost this one by letting them out hustle us for rebounds. Personally, I thought the last play call was awesome. Everyone in the gym is thinking Lanier or Z. Fake a handoff and get a 6-10 guy a layup. Can’t blame Barnes for that.

If you’re being honest, that is a straw man. The reason people are frustrated is because by letting this one slip away, we let our first ever 1 seed slip away.

It just sucks to be undefeated OOC, have a pretty damn good year in conference and wind up getting yet another 2 seed. It would be nice to eventually have a season that sees the Vols get to play a 16 in the opening round.

Hell if Florida gets beat Saturday & we win a 1 seed still a possibility.

But this loss puts Florida in control now.

I allowed myself to stare down the ledge for just a moment… just a moment. Being a Tennessee fan is hard sometimes.

Really hasn't been, for men's basketball anyway. Likely to be 4 straight years with at least 25 wins the last 4 seasons, a sweet sixteen and elite 8 appearance, likely to be 3 top 10 in the AP finishes(think it was like 18th or something the one year we finished outside the top 10) and who knows what this year brings tourny wise.

Think too many Vol fans were football only fans for too long and don't understand what success in basketball looks like and considers national championships the only mark of success.

Nobody who is already in the NCAAT and smart would place any effort in it. There is no upside.

I guess it depends on the book. I got Ole Miss at +2.5 on two seperate books 3 min before tip, so Tennessee was a possession favorite

I just don’t think UT is good enough offensively to advance to a final 4. Again we saw a 5 minute plus scoring drought tonight. In the tournament that likely equals a loss.

I think we make the Sweet 16 / face a Big 10 team in the sweet 16 (per usual) and go home.

Perspective. There are 325 D1 basketball teams. We would be elated to be top 5 in football with 125 D1 programs that does not have near the parity of basketball. There are no undefeated teams. We play in the toughest conference. We do not have a single first round NBA draft pick on the roster.

I would love to believe that. But year after year, it seems the committee just doesn't take into account the SEC tourney. Maybe they will this year becuase the league is so tough .But we have to run the table. And even then. The committee hasn't valued the actual winner becuase the game is played on Sunday the same day as the bracket comes out.
