The Official #4 Tennessee @ Ole Miss Game Thread, 9:00 PM ET, ESPN2

SEC Tournament results will be 100% ignored. Just like always.
It will be interesting to see how we're treated if we exit the SECT early. I'd wager we'd be penalized for that. Winning it? Not so much. One thing is certain. We'd better show up and take care of business vs SCjr. Know UT will be UT, but they simply cannot afford to drop that game.

Never would have called a play for him to take the last second shot - ever.

He has been stuffed at the rim many more times than not this season. You aren’t watching the sane games I’m watching if you think he has been playing well down the stretch.
Igor is more accurate from 30 feet than he is from 3 feet. We had 5 three point shooters on the floor and didn't take the three. I agree he often can not finish near the basket. In fact, our bigs miss a lot of layups and dunks.

There's really not much of a difference between being a high number two seed and low 1 seed

Last year only one number 1 seed make it to the elite 8, right?
The finals were played by the top two seeds of the tournament.

He didn’t get stuffed at the rim last night. He lost the ball on the way up and shoved it at the rim. He didn’t even take a shot, it just happened to touch rim after he fumbled it.

Igor also threw the ball at an Ole Miss player when we were trying to prevent the erasing of an 8 point lead.

It seems that Igor has inherited Aidoo’s hands - passed down from Plavsic, from Fulkerson, who received them from Alexander. For as long as Barnes has coached at TN, weak grip and flailing arms has been a right of passage among tall players.

I’m very happy with where this team stands even after the loss. I think they have over achieved based on the roster. It’s very limited offensively and lacking depth. There’s really no big that you can run offense for, except the lob to Okpara and that has been scouted well since the start of SEC play. Estrellas injury was a huge loss. Milicic’s inconsistence has been a problem. But here we are in solid shape for a 2! Are you kidding? I think this is one of Barnes best coaching jobs at TN. Dead serious.

Agreed. You cobble together a team from the portal and it's a crap shoot. To be where we are with what we have for a roster is a great job. Get to the sweet 16 and it's a really successful season all things considered.

Over 8 minutes total of not scoring when when had leads and getting abused in the paint by a bad rebounding team is just frustrating. And how does Lanier only take 3 shots in half? That should never happen

They are legit the 1 of the top 2 teams

I don't disagree with that but if they lost Saturday and then lost the first game in the SEC tourney that has to come into question just like it comes into question when Florida, or Tennessee or Alabama or "insert any other NCAA team" loses to someone they should not lose to.

I am amazed at how many really believe the conference championships don't impact ultimately who gets into the tourney - they do! The winners are in! That winner may push another team out.

I do agree that those who make the decisions do go into the selection with pre-conceived rankings - but if Tennessee were to win the tournament beating Auburn, Florida and Alabama in the process - they had better be a one seed! In fact, I would say that about any of those four teams.

You can't blame one player and one sequenced event on the loss.
This team played flat, the refs (Doug Shows) called a pissy game, on the road, and all the players seem to have some kind of illness. Mashack was coughing on the sidelines. We were flat. Road games are tough.
Expect the same in March Madness. This team probably needed this. March Madness is what it is, refs, seeding, committee, conditioning and location. We go into SEC as a 3 or 4 seed and the tournament as a 2 seed.

Have to give Ole Miss credit, they outplayed and out hustled us down the stretch. Its basketball, it happens but its still frustrating. Have to put teams away especially on the road
This is one of the most logical posts I've read on here. We tend to go in meltdown mode really quick whenever Tennessee loses a game. Even a close one.

He stands around at times. He's got to work on defense then work like crazy just to get the ball. Gas tank only has so much in it. Our roster and depth are what they are. If we had Carr and Estrella to use.....sigh.

I think Shows has reffed in 4 of our losses...not saying this was on him, but hes terrible....

Agree LV fans went into melt down mode when they lost Sr. day home game to last place GA and commented how they were done, tired etc. Then 2 days later they blow out A&M by forty in SEC tourney game.

Ole Miss needed and wanted this game more and Vols tired and beat up, they were not focused and still had a chance to win it. The #1 seed opportunity was gone when FL beat Bama. This changes nothing for Vols on where they stand.
