The Official #4 Tennessee @ Ole Miss Game Thread, 9:00 PM ET, ESPN2

Again, that wall flower was the only reason we were in that spot. If I told you, with three seconds left, we get Igor a two-footer for the win, you'd have taken it. And don't tell me otherwise, because you're not being truthful.

Never would have called a play for him to take the last second shot - ever.

He has been stuffed at the rim many more times than not this season. You aren’t watching the sane games I’m watching if you think he has been playing well down the stretch.

Could have been called but it wasn’t. He has to go up stronger than that. But that’s not the guy you want taking the last shot especially on a dribble drive. Milc got pulled earlier because he was lost and made a horrible turnover.
It's not the guy i wouldn't drawn it up for, but we did get a good look at it. Igor's problem is that he doesn't go up strong enough on drives. If that's Johni Broome or Cooper Flagg on that drive, that is a foul call.

I can't even explain that pass he made. Just chucked it at mashack’s feet.

well OT not the win unless he makes it and gets fouled

No he didn’t . Brakefield was backing up the entire time. Even if there was (and don’t think there was) refs in no situation are going to call a simply brush. If they did that in these games there would literally be 100 fouls. Even your pics are so grainy and bad angle you can’t tell what separation there was between the two players.

Literally you are the only one on here claiming foul.
You think you can't foul someone if you're backing up? There's no separation between them, they're literally touching each other. You can just look up the highlights if you're capable. Half of their and ones tonight were less contact than that.

The play call for Igor was a really good play call. I strongly disagree with those who say it wasn’t.

The play did exactly what it was supposed to do. IMO Igor didn’t go up soft or whatever nonsense. He just clearly worried that he was running out of time and pulled up too soon awkwardly to get the ball out of his hands.

Understood. Yet they are higher than us in last week’s net rankings and have a better overall record. Head to head, they beat us by 30 and we beat them by 20. Tough call, but I suspect at least as of tonight they were going to pass us in the projections for one seed. We really won’t know until the season is over. It is pretty tight.

I also question whether it makes a bit of difference to have a one versus a two as things look this year. For most fans, it is just an achievement. It does not guarantee success.
I like to think it doesn't matter much, but statistically it does. I think there's a lot of luck of the draw involved in either case.

Are the posters having a hissy fits the same ones that argue the regular season doesn’t matter?
Winning the SEC tournament doesn't necessarily matter, IMO. The regular season most certainly matters because of seeding.
If wish the committee would change the way they have been doing things and counted the SEC tournament just as part of the season.

Don't put words in my mouth. All I said was it was a good shot with three seconds left, and there's no way you can disagree with that. He hit a three and a foul shot. I have confidence he can put one in at the rim. It was a good look. Didn't fall. Watching the play I don't think that was the first option, but good teams overplay your best options in situations like that... so.

Absolutely a great look with the time they had to work with. I think he was assuming the whistle. Thats a shot that should’ve been made. It didn’t go, but it was a nice look.

Down the stretch of the freaking season you goof.

Oh and he pulled at about the 5 minutes mark or so because he was lost and made a horrible turnover. But don’t let facts get in the way.
Who didn't make a horrible turnover tonight? Who played mistake free? Who cares how he's played during whatever stretch of games you're referring to. He played well enough to give us a chance tonight. You're being silly. You've diverted your Mashack hate from last week to Igor.

Giving up the offensive rebounds in the 2nd half to Ole Miss plus Zakai having a terrible shooting night contributed greatly to this loss.

If UT rebounds the missed shot on Ole Miss' last possession, they have a final shot in regulation or overtime at the worst.

If you read my posts throughout the season, I have been very much supportive of Milc and have defended him most of the season - much more than most of those that post in the in game threads. So there is no hate at all! He hasn’t been the same player coming down the stretch - at times almost unplayable.

Don't care. I'll take the two-footer at the rim. It was a good look considering the circumstances.

We're going in circles. I'm off to bed to replay the loss in my head while I toss and turn.

You know - that’s right. TN got up on them by 8 and then slowed it downed and ran the offense slow and without purpose. Let them get right back in the game.
Makes no sense. Who is holding them back? If we see that its not working these coaches has to see it. This slow down and use up the shot clock is not working.
