The Official #4 Tennessee vs #15 Kentucky Game Thread, Saturday 4:00 PM EST/CBS

y’all are crying about that out of bounds like we didn’t get gifted a bucket with that Mashack goaltend.
Got reviewed and upheld, not sure that’s quite as bad as the out of bounds, but we had our chances besides him stepping out too. Still shouldn’t have been missed.

Credit the team for not giving up, but that's about all you can say. We were not locked In today. Don't know why either. UK played well, but we have to play better on our home floor against our rival. Really sucks.
Giving them so many open 3s to guys besides Sheppard was very disappointing today.

Expect him to get his but them shooting 51% from 3 pt range was really bad.

This has been the achilles heel of this team for the last 3 years, that ability for the entire team to be ice cold at the same time. In modern basketball you have to hit shots against a top 20 team, thats just the way it is. If the rest of the team had just hit 25% in the first half it they probably would have had the lead. DK earned player of the year carrying the entire team, they were too heavy today.

so, honestly feels pretty good to be in this game at the end after shooting 38%

the thing that stands out to me is free throw shooting. we were 13/19 they were 16/18. If we are better at the line its a one possession game. If we match Kentucky's performance we take them into overtime.

where are you seeing an open 3
Welcome to the thread. Knecht fell, and then was followed out into a double team. JJJ got the ball in the corner with us down by three. He took the shot. I don’t have a problem with that, or the goal tend that they reviewed and confirmed with an overhead camera.

The studio crew has it so wrong. Knecht took it to the rim a lot, but couldn’t get a call. Just because we shot only 6 FTs in 2nd half doesn’t mean we were not drawing fouls. They just weren’t getting called. And that is admitting that Aidoo needs to finish stronger in the paint. But contact was not called equivalently.
This… If you can’t see the difference in how physical both teams were allowed to be I don’t know what to say. We did a lot of things bad and credit to Kentucky for shooting lights out. It’s just frustrating when DK gets tackled and nothing and 30 seconds later they’re at the line cause we barely bumped them.

Also that stretch where we went 0-4 from deep and all 4 were open looks was the dagger stretch. Kentucky answered every miss with a bucket & pushed the lead to 14.

Gotta think had we taken momentum then we likely pull it out.

Pround of the effort and the comback. That's a Final Four type atmosphere. Just didn't have enough today against a hot-shooting opponent. .
Also really didn’t start off well. But if you’re going to have one of those games where everything’s seemingly not falling, it’s better to have one right before the tournament than during it.

I would argue the missed Reeves call was a far bigger missed call. It was a 5 point game when Reeves stepped out of bounds. He extended it to a 7 point game. They get that call right and we hit a basket on the other ends the rest of the game plays out differently.

Today was expected. The committee was never going to give us the 1 seed anyway. No one got hurt. Team gets a loss out of its system and might use it as motivation. Win a game or two in the SECT and give the big dance your best shot. This one doesn't really mean all that much. Again, it really was expected.
