The Official #4 Tennessee vs #16 South Carolina Game Thread, Wednesday 7pm est/ESPN2

The 23-6 (13-3) Vols can clinch the outright SEC regular season title tonight with a win in Columbia over the surprise of the SEC, the 24-5 (12-4) South Carolina Gamecocks. The Vols are also in strong contention for a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament for the first time in program history and a victory over the Gamecocks keeps the Vols on that path. The Vols last loss in Columbia was in the 2019-2020 season. The Vols have won the last two meetings on the Gamecocks home floor, 81-57 in 2022, and 85-42 last year. This is an entirely different team in year two for Lamont Paris, the current favorite for SEC Coach of the Year. Tennessee is a 5.5 point favorite.

Solid win and DK was DK tonight and we had little contributions from everyone.

Seniors knocked down the crucial free throws to put this game on ice.

Thought Lamont was arrogant in his post game. What I heard was that Dalton played exactly like he wanted and they only lost because of mistakes they made in transition, which were well in their control.

What I saw was a blow out if Jonas had hit his layups. They were extremely lucky he did not have 30 points.

Didn’t realize Aidoo was just one rebound shy of a double double. If that cat hadn’t had slippery hands tonight, he could have had a 20 pts 15 boards kind of outing.

Think it’s a good sign that on a night where there’s plenty to critique about his performance, Aidoo still has a very productive game.
