I thought the game was over after ZZ’ two consecutive turnovers and an (almost) third that was called a jump ball. We scored NO points on three straight possessions.

Crazy sequence of events:

• Nelson makes 1 of 2 from the line giving Bama a four point lead

• Chaz scores @ the rim w/opportunity of plus one

• Chaz misses foul shot

• Mashack goes for rebound and fouled going for rebound

• Mashack ties game by sinking both foul shots. That gave TN four points w/in two seconds

• Mashack w good D on next possession, causing jump ball

• 5 second call- TN ball with 3.8 sec

• Nobody open so ball inbounded to Mashack.

• Vols win! Mashack hits three ball!

Edit- Barnes tells reporters he didn’t see final play as he way bzy shouting (and staring down) ref.

When asked how he found out Mashack scored winning basket, Barnes said “from reaction of crowd.”

Mashack was definitely clutch in the last 30 seconds. Beats guy who doesn’t block out, makes 2 big FTs, ties up on other end for a jump ball and hits a 35 footer. Our lack of execution otherwise in the last 4 minutes was not good.

And you didn’t say the team wasn’t being clutch, you said they weren’t clutch, and no I did not agree. They’ve already shown to be a clutch group before today

True. And it kicked ass. That said, I don’t think Knecht even was in CP’s league. CP was dominant on both ends. Players that dominant on the men’s side don’t stay more than a year. She was like KD at Texas if KD had stayed and earned a degree.
