We really dominated the stats or, well even, other than their 8 rebound advantage. We had a higher fg%, barely and 4 more shots made. 3 more threes, more steals, less turnovers. They had more blocks, one more assist and offensive rebound. Wait tho, here is the kicker, +16 free throws made and +17 ft attempted.
I know moral victories AKA Close Losses are the most bitter defeats because the objective is to win the game not get the happiness of losing a winnable game because the game was close.
I’m disappointed the Volunteers lost a winnable game to the Wildcats mostly because of the abysmal missing more than 3 threes in the 2nd half, and because Tennessee failed to defend when they had opportunities to either tie the game or take the lead.
I’m a lot less unhappy for this disappointing defeat to a great Arizona Wildcats team because my Rocky Top Volunteers showed a champion performance since they did trail by 10 however they didn’t quit competing, reduced the Wildcats lead which gave the Volunteers the advantage of tying the game or taking the lead.
Adversity reveals character, and the 2022-2023 Volunteers Basketball team showed they are champions because they didn’t give the hell up vs a great Arizona Wildcats team in Arizona.
Thought the zebras did their best home cooking job, and had it been a bit more evenly called the Vols may have squeaked a road win out. Having said that too it will be nice to see our 5 star Frosh start scoring again. We really dominated the stats or, well even, other than their 8 rebound advantage. I laugh at the posters saying Barnes was not working the refs. I don’t think they understand that the camera is not on him the whole game. Oh, he’s working them, and if they sat a row or two behind the bench, they would realize just how much.

If he’s hitting open shots and shooting near 40% from three then I think he’s one of our best all around options. Problem is, he isn’t doing that. Shooting around 25% from three this year. And is no threat to drive past anyone. Meshak is a better option offensively if those numbers continue.
