The Official #6 Tennessee @ Texas A&M Game Thread, 8:00 PM ET, ESPN

I know some didn’t like that Barnes played SV and JJJ as much as he did, but the only problem I had with the rotation was not playing Awaka more. I know he had some foul trouble (again), but he needed to be out there more to matchup on Garcia.
Agreed. This was a game where you let Awaka foul out and it doesn’t even matter.

He runs them hard, and if they don't do well enough, he runs them harder. Team can keep up with it early in the year, but the bill comes due. A lot of his former players have talked about how intense his practices and his coaching is. That podcast interview with Grant Williams where he talked about the brutal practices comes to mind.
After 40 years of coaching and getting the same results, you’d think he’d try something different.

When Awaka gets 3 fouls in 12 minutes he’s probably not getting more PT. Putting opponents on the free throw line creates a huge disadvantage.

idk what happened to tba.

back in 2018-19 the place was a madhouse.

Yep. It’s become a morgue. It’s sad. The environment is absolutely terrible. You can almost feel the electricity through the TV when I watch home games for Auburn, A&M, Kansas, etc.

Then you turn on a Tennessee game and it sounds like bingo night at the local YMCA.

Danny white and a few posters in here say it’s fine so its fine.

Interesting. I’ll be extremely surprised if Adams and crew are back next season. If they are…then we know the SEC office doesn’t care.
If you or anyone else thinks we lost this game due to officiating then I don’t know what you were watching. They outplayed us, out shot us, out rebounded us, out defended us, shot a higher percentage from 2, shot a higher percentage from 3, shot a higher percentage on free throws. The Aggies beat us fair and square - the officials didn’t determine the winner of tonight’s game.

Yep

Texas A&M controlled the tempo tonight and Anderson was a monster on the glass for Texas A&M.

Tennessee will be seeking some revenge in a couple of weeks when A&M comes to Knoxville for a rematch.

Two things can be true. Tennessee got punched in the nose and responded awfull, and Pat Adams has zero business officiating at this level

DW says it’s fine because he isn’t going to piss off the boosters. But anyone with ears can listen to the crowd noise on TV and compare it to years past and see it’s just not the same. Our fans have become complacent. A raucous home environment might have willed them to a victory against South Carolina. Instead, the crickets you got from the crowd pretty much made the team continue to play tight and we lost.

They didn’t. But not giving Buzz a technical when running almost halfway on the court with the clock running is inexcusable. But that’s what we get with Pat Adams.

It was loud in the 90’s and we weren’t even that good. One of my best friends played on the team coached by Kevin O Neill. We had our moments but weren’t great. However, TBA was rowdy. At least it seemed that way as a college student.
