The Official #6 Tennessee @ Vanderbilt Game Thread, 3:30 PM ET, SEC Network

You have posted 6 times in 6 years. Need more credibility to criticize a HOF coach than that. Everyone has an opinion. All of us on here have an opinion. We all have an @zzhole too. Use caution which one is typing. Barnes has earned the right to say whatever he desires.
Yep. Last time I checked there are only 100 coaches in the HOF. Barnes will likely get there because his peers - the ones who know college basketball better than anyone on this board, or any board for that matter - will elect him as one of the best to ever do it. I don't care if he's only been to the Final Four once - that's one more than Gene Keady, Ralph Miller, John Chaney, and Pete Carril and the same number as Lou Carnesecca, Don Haskins, Ed Diddle, and Everett Case.

I've seen enough college basketball in my time to know anyone has a chance to win a title once we get into March. If they didn't, teams like 1983 NC State, '85 Villanova, '88 Kansas, '97 Arizona, and '14 UConn wouldn't have sniffed the title game.

My overall take on this team:
ZZ - He is the only and I mean only ballhandler on this team. He gets careless with the ball too many times and is a streaky shooter. He absolutely has to be on the floor to handle the ball. I just wish he would on occasion quit letting the shot clock run down under 10 seconds before he gets it going. But like I said before, nobody is a ballhandler but him.

Gainey - A good player but cannot be your main ballhandler. He is a secondary ballhandler. When he brings or tries to bring the ball upcourt he always seems to be uncomfortable. I actually like his overall game and adds quite a bit to this team. I thing he is a very good complimentary offensive player.

Igor- A good rebounder. Not so sure about his foot speed or quickness to the rim. He is not going to be a reliable 3 point shooter. Also, a good complimentary player but his moves to the basket seem a little weak or tentative. I wish he would dunk some of those attempted put backs. He seems like a great team player and really rebounds the ball.

Mashack- Concerning. A great defensive player but no offensive game. I think he could have an offensive game but he thinks before he shoots/like should I shoot or not. Almost all of the time he tells himself not to shoot. Even when he drives into the lane, he is almost 100% of the time he is going to throw it back out. That just wastes time off the shot clock. Great team player though. I like him personally and I wish he would shoot more because he can't be any worse than the others right now.

Felix - Can run the floor/athletic and can obviously dunk the ball and block shots. That is his game period. He is very good catching lobs and dunking as long as he doesn't have to bring the ball down. At that point, his offensive game is over. He is what he is and we can't expect more.

Lanier - Streaky shooter period. You need one of these on your team. A catch and shoot. Not a great one on one player and doesn't finish strong at the rim. A catch and shoot. I like him as a player and he definitely can get hot and he can definitely go cold. Just not a great one on one player.

Cade Phillips- I love his motor and jumping ability. He is athletic but not going to ever be an one on one offensive threat. No outside game to this point which means that if he is on the floor with Felix, there would be only 3 outside threats.

Finally, Dubar. I actually like Dubar's limited offensive game. I feel he has an outside shot that Barnes is not utilizing. When he shoots it, which is rare, because Barnes doesn't play him enough, I feel there is a good chance he will make it.
Not sure about his team mannerisms or attitude but I think TN needs him in the game more.

I do not think TN is a top ten team but I do think they are a top 20 team. I hope by March they are a top 10 team but I need to see more. I hope Auburn doesn't beat TN like Florida did, but I think it might be coming.

Igor actually has very good career stats as a 3-point shooter. He’s in a slump right now.

I saw another angle of the last play. The foot was definitely out. It’s kinda close whether he’s still touching the ball before foot hits ground but I think so.

It’d be hilarious if we got a tech FT for the premature court storming.

How so? Do we have depth? Can someone besides Ziegler run the point effectively? Been saying this for weeks. That #1 ranking was fools gold so it's not shocking. You have that much of an advantage in the paint and couldn't capitalize on it. Imagine playing teams with good front courts.
I’d say we played pretty darn well last night against a frontcourt that includes the front runner for National POY.

Someone posted a Twitter shot of the play, he wasn't out. They should have reviewed but they wouldn't have overturned because at best you can't tell if his foot is touching when he touches the ball.

I think I saw that twit in the other thread (which I didn’t see til later or would’ve posted there). That photo was at 0.8. It’s the next step that’s out (0.7). My screen grab is later but not great quality either so I tracked down the video:

And in doing so, found another fan angle:

Now watching live speed I feel vandy got it off, but slowed down I think I can get a frame with foot down and ball touching hand both angles. It is very close. FB only slows to 0.5x speed though. Would’ve liked to see a frame-by-frame review of the official cameras.

Anyway, it’s ancient history now.
