Honestly, the same was said after Florida. I think we are maybe 3rd or 4th best team in the league right now. We can improve, at least that is my hope. We really need to get healthy and develop toughness, especially off the bench.

Well, looks like you REALLY know basketball. Again, since you refused to answer my question for the third time, I ask you which stellar Barnes post recruit would you like to play over fulkerson? And no, playing four on five is not an option.

I brought it up in another thread the other day but coming into this game we were 65% in SEC play. Almost 80% up until SEC play. Pressure must be getting to them.

We had fight tonight, just played sloppy & had too many turnovers.

I can accept that, team is young & Springer being out has killed chemistry. Just gotta get healthy and keep playing hard, the wins will come again. I feel like these older SEC teams are benefiting more from COVID derailing off-seasons.

It’s why younger teams like Kentucky & Duke are struggling.

Yep. The effort was there tonight. Still comes down to making shots and we still cannot do that. And don’t turn it over 20 times.

It's been tough to be a Vol lately.
I get a tease looking up at football with the coaching change and what looks great at AD, the Lady Vols played pretty good but lost their basketball smarts late game, the guys just look like a different team. The latter two need that point guard, the pointy ball guys need that qb.
Leadership counts.

They have to play. Pons and Fulky can’t play 40. They won’t play big minutes. Especially with Springer out, Gaines had to play too. Some people want to reduce Vescovi’s minutes. We can’t play 5 guys 40 minutes.

I agree on Springer and hope he will be able to play soon. I was worried at the start of the season about our size for the players who were going to get most of the minutes, and that has not changed. The sloppy play in the last two games has been awful. That has to change very soon.

Our shooting really wasn’t bad. As you said, turnovers did. You can’t miss out getting a shot off 18 times. I also don’t understand why Fulky isn’t more aggressive and got his first points late. We need Fulky and Keon to get more shots than they did tonight.

Tough to watch...but, that's today's college basketball game. Every program looks inconsistent (excluding some highly ranked teams that play absolutely no one). This year is going to be a strange one for every program. There's no consistency with anything in the program with this Covid thing.....I'm surprised the young guys have performed as well as they have........we just need to improve, survive and make it to the tournament. I can remember the days when we would have no expectations....I really like this "disappointment thing" of being ranked 6th in the country and lose a couple of bad ones. I guess I'm too old to NOT appreciate having expectations...and sometimes really exceeding expectations......

Really good to see pons play well. JJJ was more aggressive which was good to see as well.

Biggest difference in the game was turnovers/fast break points especially early on. Fulky and Vescovi had really bad nights. Can’t have 9 turnovers between them.

Serious lack of production outside the top 7, which is really glaring when one of them is out. Springer is by far our most polished offensive players and brings a different dimension to this team. IMO he’s the only one who can drive and break a defense down by either scoring or passing.

The fact that those dudes have scholarships is an indictment on this staff... the drop off from player 7 to 8 is beyond comprehensive

Anyone who has played knows ya get tired & ya get sloppy. Surely Barnes sees it, this team needs rest right now. No full off-season to do conditioning and new guys who aren’t used to the grind of SEC/D1 ball are struggling. Fulky getting Covid also has set him back some.

I liked Bailey at point tonight he did some good things and seemed to have good control over the ball.
Fulky has to play stronger, I get he isn't big but he's playing weak and just letting guys get pushed around.
Where was Keon tonight? He played really passively
