I had such high hopes for this group.......Fulk has not improved....he needed to be in the weight room this past summer
He looks like he has been on the keto diet instead......free throw shooting is horrific.......shot clock violations are inexplicable......I hate to say it, but it smacks of a lack of coaching on Barnes part

Because we finally started facing decent competition. Everyone was talking about how great we were based off wins against USC Upstate, TN Tech, St. Joseph's, App State, and Cincinnati. It is easy to look good against teams of this caliber.

UT is like Illinois. Hyped up to a high ranking then exposed. At least we're not some crappy bottom feeder...but it's disappointing to find out we're nowhere near one of the best teams in the country like we were viewed as. This team is nothing resembling a 6th ranked team....that's preposterous. A middle of the SEC team. Not terrible but certainly nothing special.

Exactly. I can think of a few players that were over-hyped too.

Sad to say this years team isn’t much different than last seasons 17-14 team. Not sure we are going to end up with a better record this year when it’s all over

I think Fulk is playing injured or at least not at 100%. He spent a lot of time hitting the floor last night. I think the physical toll may be catching up on him and there is no one on that bench that is solid back up to him. The lack of a quality BIG(s) continues to hurt this team. Barnes is recruiting them, they just are coming (yet).

So much for Fulky's and others delusional comparison to 2018. If you're Fulky you have to see the weaknesses even before everyone else. It's clear there is no Alpha that has shown up on this team.

I forgot about the wrist issue but that doesn't explain lack of aggressiveness in passing up shots and being in good position. I might explain misses and possibly some rebounding. And if this is the case, how do we see the injury getting better in season without any backups?

Injured hands have a lot to do with hesitating before shooting. It really showed with his free throw shooting when he was first playing with taped up fingers.
