The Official #6 Tennessee vs. #23 Georgia Game Thread, 8:00 PM ET, SEC Network

Nobody has won more SEC games than us the last 5 years
Was thinking the same thing. Most of the negavols make stuff up because it fits their narrative. Fairweather and bandwagon fans. It's the same as the people complaining about the crowd yet have never been to a game. They don't realize that a stretch of 10 minutes (30-40m actual time) with 3 total fgs by either team is not something you can yell during no matter what the score is. It's just not exciting until something exciting happens.

Shooters have slumps. I'm sure someone as good as Steph Curry has went through slumps in his time. Hopefully it doesn't mess with his head too much and he can shoot his way out of it.

Did Chaz shoot that bad because of Barnes calling him out ? Maybe like an Ill show him kind of attiude ?

He did seem to be off a bit. There were some shots that looked like he took them just because he didn't want to pass out.

He'll shoot himself out of the slump soon enough. The bigger thing for me is we have had 2 straight games where others had to pick it up. That was my concern this season.

Yeah, Gainey stepping up and some offensive contributions from Shack were huge last night. Cade and Felix are becoming much more active around the rim on follows as well as lobs. If we can get a bit more consistency from Igor and get Dubar more open looks, it will really relieve the pressure on Chaz and free him up.

One thing I have been thinking and the color guy actually mentioned it a few times last night was Chaz not being so reliant on his jumper, for him to go to the rim and draw fouls when defenders close on him. Getting some cheap points at the FT line lets him see the ball going in, and will keep defenders from being as aggressive on the perimeter.

With us rebounding half our misses, it’s better for him to shoot when he has space than pass, given that he isn’t a good passer. We got at least two putback buckets that way last night.

Really thought Dubar would get more playing time after the last game plus the injuries/short bench. Long season. Have to think we are gonna need Dubar again at some point. Sure wish we still had Carr....and some others who chose to leave.

I thought it was great to see a big win without Chaz having to carry us. I like the way this team adjusts to each situation, except FL, that was a group effort, ha.

Surely the coaches will rewatch the game film and see if they can spot any flaw that Chaz may be doing on his shot.

Was disappointed Dubar didn't show up. It's one good game for him and 2-3 disappearing acts. I don't understand that from a player. Got to be mental.

Dubar will have his games like he did at Texas. My main concern was always was how would we replace Knecht scoring (Chaz answered that), but if our leading scorer has slumps, do we have firepower to pick up load. So far answer is yes. Praise.

Oh I agree..... I wish Lanier had Knecht's mentality of shooting out of a slump. Barnes obviously has given Chaz greenlight to volume shoot. Eventually he'll get hot again

I don’t think so. He has just been cold lately. That sort of thing happens. I doubt rather seriously based on his previous coach’s comments about him that he would sandbag a game to “show a coach.” Strange fan fiction here.

Yep, ZZ is the man! I hate that we lost, but that guy is enjoyable to watch!!! I’m a big fan of ZZ!

Georgia came to play, if we don't get hot shooting in 2nd half I think it would've been a nail biter.

They could make some real noise in March, still such a young team

Demary = SO
Newell = FR
Cain = SO
Cyril = FR
Montgomery = SO
James = SO

Seemed like they had some trouble driving on us and got less FTs because of it, that and not shooting well from deep was the difference.
