Right now, I think the stronger lineup would be to move SV over to relieve ZZZ and bring in Mashack or Awaka if we wanted to go larger. Dillione still has a ways to go and I have zero confidence in him presently. Hope they find him some minutes somewhere as we need to develop the freshmen. Wish Carr and Phillips had redshirted now.I think Dilione played fine today in particular in the 1st half. Had 2 assists in only 6 minutes. Had one bad turnover and one defensive lapse but we need him to spell ZZ some minutes. I think we will continue to see him earn these minutes and show flashes of why folks have high hopes for him as he gains more confidence.
If Santi is tired of being with the team, why is he playing his guts out on the defensive end? JJJ is an enigma, but he has been since he was a freshman. But they're both the absolute definition of unselfishness, on a very rare level.Vescovi and James are both tired of being at Tennessee. They thought they were coming back to lead this team.

There is no question that they are team players but Tennessee needs these two to be efficient offensive players to reach their goals. Just 18 to 20 points from them would be ok. The game plan moving forward is gonna be to make these two or whoever subs for them beat you. Right now they are the weak link on the offensive end. He’s just another casual who thinks the only thing that matters is scoring
.I know many will disagree, but I continue to believe that getting J. Gainey back on track will be critical for this team's success. I think he can be a guy who can pick up the scoring slack when it's needed. I don't think Barnes has given up on him because he sees what he's capable of. I know he's in a horrible slump and time is starting to run out, but I'd sure love to see him bust out, and this Saturday would be a great time for it.
Weak link? DamnThere is no question that they are team players but Tennessee needs these two to be efficient offensive players to reach their goals. Just 18 to 20 points from them would be ok. When you can't hit wide open shots your gonna get left open more often. It aint rocket science. We need these two to hit shots like they have proven they can in the past. Just be efficient even if other scorers mean fewer shots.
I think when Knecht is in a zone and we're running basically every set for him, they're unselfishly going to defer. I get they missed too many wide open shots, BUT neither are getting many shots. We just scored 90 ten days ago with Knecht having an off nightWhen you can't hit wide open shots your gonna get left open more often. It aint rocket science. In the original post I mention the players that sub out for them too. Since Mashack's hot couple of weeks ended he, Gainey, SV, and JJJ are giving us very little on the offensive side. They are all playing good basketball otherwise for the most part but at some point we have get some scoring from a couple of these guys. DK is not gonna keep putting up 30 to 40 every night.Fair, JJJ is 1-12 from deep in SEC play so far, but he's shooting 33.8% from deep on the season so he should hit a good hot streak soon.
Be a good time to do it with the next 4 games we have we will see what happens.
He is simply reverting to the mean. He stayed over 40% for a long time despite that four years of data has him closer to 30%. If he could just split the difference moving forward that would be good.Fair, JJJ is 1-12 from deep in SEC play so far, but he's shooting 33.8% from deep on the season so he should hit a good hot streak soon.
