The Official #6 Tennessee vs. Missouri Game Thread, 6:00 PM ET, SEC Network

Us overacheiving as mush as we did at the beginning of the season has clouded judgement of this team. We have no real playmakers and they have to rely on defensive effort and the other team not hitting shots to win. Losing early last yr with chandler was far more egregious than this team.

"It's the refs!" "No, we just suck, the refs are doing good."

See, I choose to believe in a different world. A more realistic world. A world where Tennessee could have played a crappy first half AND the officials could have sucked and made bad calls in Missouri's favor.

It's a generic observation. The fans job is to cheer on the team. I never said it was ALWAYS the fans fault. I never said the team played poorly because of the fans.

Take your shtick elsewhere.
Nothing to take anywhere, it was an honest question. When things arent going well in Neyland fans are quiet as well. Fans dont cheer unless they have a reason to.

Who do we have who is even halfway consistent offensively? Vescovi and Ziggy--and that is it.

ON has been bad tonight, JJJ is out, Phillips has been MIA for a few weeks, our bigs are not scorers. We've got nobody.
That is precisely why we HAVE to be great defensively--and Missouri had 8 3s in the first half and is on a 88 point scoring pace.

We will have to hold them to 30 points or fewer in the 2nd half to win this game. 30 is my best-case over/under, win/lose point total for Missouri for us.
And even then we'll have to score 44 to win it. I frankly don't think that's possible. This will be a hard deficit to overcome.

We have no INSIDE players with real offensive talent. That is a MAJOR problem for this team. You gotta have inside guys who know how to score. Our three bigs don't have the skill set. Combine that with ON's issues, JJJ out, Philipps not really doing anything and what do we have? Not much, I'm afraid.

I'll say this, if I couldn't see the home floor, I'd never guess we were playing at TBA. No energy from the fans, Mizzou shooting lights out, and nearly every call has gone their way.

Fans actually got fired up a few times on the bad calls/ no calls. But the problem is the team didn’t respond.

If the team doesn’t respond to the crowd trying to help then they’re going to stop.

I think early bad reffing contributed. We had the chance to have a 10 point lead early if things were called right.

Past that the shooting for Mizzou has been incredible. That can’t last.

But 12 pts without JJJ is hard to makeup
Plus the -8 or -10 he’s worth on defense

I guess it feels better to think that way. No accountability does not change the result
