So am I but I’m not going to immediately start writing guys off, based on one game.
This squad has some ballers, bama just took it to them tonight. Tough loss for sure.
Guys will figure out their roles and Barnes will use this game as a lesson, no doubt.

It's because it's stupid Alabama. If it was anyone other than Bama, UK, or UF people wouldn't be as up in arms honestly. Lol. It's just stupid that Bama doesn't even belong on the same court as us but either finds a way to beat us constantly or play us down to the wire. I just want our basketball team to rightfully beat the piss out of them for once.

This hits the nail on the head. In football Bama has a better coach and better players and when we play they blow us out. In basketball UT has a better coach and better players but when we play Bama finds a way to win or just barely lose. This UT defense is supposed to be Final Four quality and Bama just casually hits 50% from the 3. Barnes needs to learn how important rivalries are to this fan base.

Springer would have made a huge difference defensively and offensively. They were isolating 13 and we had no one that could keep up - Springer could have likely stayed with him.

We had some chances to get back in the game but missed momentum building 3’s. Very frustrating to watch.

What you don’t seem to realize is he has the size the NBA wants and they draft off potential, not production. It’s why Pons will have a shot at being drafted & playing at the next level.

If he left now he wouldn’t get drafted, but for christ sake I said he needs to elevate his offense to a 10-12 points a night game to get a shot. I’m not saying he’s going right now either.

If he’s going to be drafted, he needs to show some “ potential” on the offensive end. Has great size and does all the little things week but you don’t get to the NBA unless you can shoot the ball ( unless your Dennis Rodman)

Terrible officiating set the tone for this game in the first half and let Bama get hot. I will end up running on the court and putting a ref in a sleeper hold if this continues.

Right now I just don't see it. He can't create offense from the guard position. He is a sophomore and he's playing guys that won't sniff the league but he can't get a important basket down the stretch. He needs to improve a lot more. We needed him tonight. He plays good defense and has improved his ball handling. His offense is below average.

James lead the team in rebounds & steals, and was second in blocks. Only took 6 shots, really needs to get that Turner mentality a bit more and attack the rim.

So once again, if he can become a consistent 10-12 points a night guy in our system with the rest of his game he can be drafted (after next season).

No, he went down weird jumping to the right on offense when going across the lane. He got up and was trailing the play on defense and they took him out. Probably could have kept the sprain loose and kept playing if it was the tourney but the staff was being safe.

I'd say he misses no more than a week unless it's some freak broken bone.

What makes him seem like an elite PG to you? I’ve watched him since he’s been here an while he has done OK at times there’s definitely no “it” factor about him. He does the basics of getting the ball up the court most times but he doesn’t drive and create shots for himself or anyone else. He’s an average shooter at best and a liability on defense.

Elite shooter, eFG over 600 this year. It’s like you didn’t even click the link.

Also never argued he’s elite overall or an elite PG. But stats for this year so far act like he’s performed the best on our team so far this year. He’s a good PG that would start at SG for most teams. He doesn’t have good speed but his defense is good enough for his level of shooting.

Barnes will use this as a teaching moment. Fulky is going to get a talking to behind closed doors. We shot like crap from everywhere but still were in the game. I am not worried about the result, but when we get pushed we have to respond and when things are not going our way, someone has to step up. I think this was a tailor made game where we needed Springer but he wasn’t available.

Tactically switching everything defensively turned out to not work out for us at all. Everyone of our bigs except Pons got picked on.
