The Official #8 Tennessee @ Vanderbilt Game Thread, 12:00 PM ET, ABC

Great win by the Vols but JH had better fix this slow start crap because the playoff teams will be good. Hate to see us down to a equal team after the first qtr.
He 's had all year and we still have not solved the problem.
There is some significant differences to yesterday's start. No interest in nuance?

How can a team look so bad in the first quarter, then play so well the rest of the game? You see it all the time. Certainly not just with this team. Amazing how quickly something can change the flow of a game.
Yesterday's first quarter was much different than any this year

Tennessee scored 7 points in the first quarter added 17 in the 2nd quarter to score 24 in the first half. That is not starting slow.

What happened was the special team broke down on the kickoff return and Sampson fumbled deep in Vandy territory. Otherwise, it is probably 24-3 at the half.

The offense, other than the fumble, was just fine in this game.
Down 14 zip after 2 minutes in the first quarter pretty slow to me, especially when we are expected to be up 14-21 points at then end of the first quarter. If that is not a slow start, I for sure, don't want to ever see one.

Some Volnation comments were displayed on national media. Not a good look calling our coaches awful for the world to see.
displayed on national media.
Well whoever did that needs a good slap. Our business is our business, and in the heat of a game people get upset and say things. But, I imagine the Ohio State fans dominated the media, so.

lol! You show up hours AFTER the game is over to find posts from a game thread to single out? I post a lot of things that prove not to be right and have no problem facing it. I use the game thread to vent during the game. You use it hours later to try to make yourself look clever.
Don’t worry about people who try stirring the pot. It’s okay to post one’s thoughts and vent throughout the game. That’s what fans do.

I agree with your comment except the fumble was on our side of the field around our 30 yard line.

nice game NICO.. defense played much better except one drive second half... we seemed to make some adjustments... wouldnt it be nice if Nico starting to peak going into playoffs.. 3 weeks off to get everyone healthy

Didn’t want to open a new thread just for this question but what was the reason Campbell launched himself on the VU defender? The man was running at full speed with the attempt to injure. Disgusting behavior.

Furthermore, there is a difference about being negative and saying things about players that bleed for our University to have absolutely ridiculous, derogatory things said about them, by so called “fans”.

You must not have watched any other games
I watched every game this year. We had a habitual routine of starting slow, sometimes downright lethargic. I'm not sure what your argument is here. After the NC State game, we always came out of the gate extremely slow...
