So I had to record the game today as it was too beautiful to stay inside so no VolNation either. Thank god. Watching the recording while glancing at comments, SOME of you are insufferable. Like I said earlier, SOME are defeatist, fragile and weak minded. Thinking about it I would bet that SOME have never competed. Just chill sometimes. Things work out. This. Plus we struggled to stop Vandy in the 1.5 quarters. It’s life as a fan, not knowing if any adjustments are coming. Plus, there is a bit of BVS since we’ve choked over the yrs when we had opportunities (97, 99, 2001, 2016, 2022).

Idk what adjustments Banks made but our D stepped up. And Nico got it going and looked good. He had the one bad int but the passes to Thornton got us going.

Tennessee scored 7 points in the first quarter added 17 in the 2nd quarter to score 24 in the first half. That is not starting slow.

What happened was the special team broke down on the kickoff return and Sampson fumbled deep in Vandy territory. Otherwise, it is probably 24-3 at the half.

The offense, other than the fumble, was just fine in this game.

This is what has to happen for Tennessee to host and it all depends upon how many teams with automatic bids are in front of us in the final ranking. Note: If I did the math right!

- If there is 1 automatic bid / bye in front of us, then we need to be at least ranked 5 in the final poll. That would put us as the 8th seed and 5-8 host.
- If there are 2 automatic bids / byes in front of us, then we need to be at least ranked 6 in the final poll. That would put us as the 8th seed.
- If there are 3 automatic bids / byes in front of us, then we need to be at least ranked 7 in the final poll. That would put us as the 8th seed.

The 4th automatic bid / bye will always be behind us and will probably be Boise State.

We are currently ranked # 8, so we are one spot out of hosting.

Right now, there are three conferences with the potential conference champion in front of us (B1G, SEC and ACC). One will be behind us. The B1G rep will definitely be ahead of us.

Then don't throw deep. If the defenders are all deep the middle should be open. Were the defenders deep when the play was called 20 seconds before the ball was snapped? If the defensive coach looked at Tennessee tendencies this whole season, a run has been a very common call on 3rd and long.

Those clowns won’t show their faces now. It’s a 4 qtr game. Criticize plays, play calling, effort, decisions, but don’t call players or coaches stupid, dumb or say they suck. Guarantee you they want it more than any of us. And might, just might be a little more qualified to do it.

Slow start not the biggest issue. Undisciplined with the penalties is the real issue
