The Official #8 Tennessee vs. Florida Game Thread, 7:00 PM ET, ESPN

Dylan Sampson through 6 games

699 yards, 15 tuddies over 6 yards a carry. Gonna break the season record (18) with ease at this point and may even break the career record (believe he’s 9 away form meeting it). Gonna go out as an all time great vol RB
He is a beast, to get those stats with this offensive line is incredible. The Karns kid looks good every chance he gets as well. Bone crushers.

I don’t hate anyone, he’s just not worth his NIL deal in my opinion. Which counts for zero
Sorry, I meant hate on him.

Anyway, I have my own unpopular opinions of Nico that I keep to myself because they don't matter. Heupel isn't going to bench him and everyone should know that. I believe a big maybe the biggest problem with Nico is confidence and we can talk all day about how it shouldn't be but that doesn't matter, it is. Benching him would be disastrous in my opinion.

Everybody wanted to bench Milton and throw Nico to the dogs. Now Nico is in there and Everybody wants to throw Gaston in. He's been fine until SEC play and he's looked like a deer in the headlights. I know, there's been other redshirt freshman that balled out, but unfortunately that ain't happened yet. Might not.

We all better hope Nico calms down, and concentrates on the game more than his marketing and becomes who we all hoped he would. If not, there's nothing any of us can do about it but watch.

I'll take the win. Beating Florida given our past history is HUGE. Home game made us look good to recruits as well. We have two big bumps in the road starting next Saturday night. We are a very 50-50, hit or miss, team this year with a young QB and improving defense. Go Vols! Thanks for the win in overtime last night. Smile on our faces here.

win is a win is a win.. i was mad all night but I woke up this morning a lil hung over but feeling good because we BEAT FLORIDA.. nope wasnt pretty but much prettier than a loss
Sure is. Headed back home to Fl getting to brag another year that though we didn’t look great we ATLEAST BEAT THEM!! Go Vols!!!🧡🧡🧡

Great win! If Sunbelt Billy would have gone for 2, we would have stopped them and it never would have gotten to OT. That almost would have been a shame because the game winning drive in OT was the best Tennessee drive of the night, I thought. I guess I shouldn't be surprised that some folks sound like they would have rather we lost this one so they could claim one of those moral victories that Butch used to talk about all the time. Enjoy the win, ffs. Got tomorrow off, so going to celebrate all over again tonight. Nothing quite like beating Florida 😎🍊🍊🍊

So Gators fans can get the moral victory well it wasn’t the very pretty badass dominant win that multiple Vols fans predicted it would be which is like being very happy for failing narrowly by getting a 68 percent on an exam or test.
It’s a rose colored glasses view of failure.

Texas is the only team I can say is “really good” atm. That’s all.

Texas has had a very easy schedule to date. Their lofty ranking is due to the Michigan win which is not looking all that great anymore. They have UGA and then they play at Vandy the following - as much as I dislike Vandy it would be epic is they derailed two number 1 teams in the same year.

Florida is terrible, with a back-up QB- 330 yds of offense in the 3rd qtr. This is not an elite defense. If you think they are, you're the dumb one, not me.

Do you know what ELITE means?
If you are going to post stats at least get them correct. Florida only had 361 total yards offense for the game - they did not have 330 years in the 3rd quarter. They had circa 115 yards in the third quarter.

That was total yards through 3 quarters. Thought that was implied. Guess not.

FanDuel Sportsbook has released their early point spread for the showdown. At the time of this writing, Kalen DeBoer's Alabama squad is favored by 2.5 points over Josh Heupel's Tennessee team, while the over/under has been set at 52.5 points

I'm saying it closes at 13
It will likely change, but don’t know until the injury report is posted. Bama is having as many problems as we are. Their advantage I’d their QB has been playing very well and their Freshman WR is tearing it up. On the other hand, their defense has hate problems stopping almost every team they have played. If we can show diversity in our play calling, we have a good chance of wining Saturday.

Nico not showing much as a pocket passer. Think roll out run or pass is his best option right now.
The rush is taking advantage of a sitting duck with the offense we have been running with little production from our tackles Roll outs with run options may gain some yards and confidence. I think the defense will do its job if the office can points on the board and they don’t have to come back on th field after a bunch of three and outs.
