The Official #9 Tennessee @ #8 Ohio State Game Thread, 8:00 PM ET, ABC/ESPN

Ohio State alum. First, kudos to Tennessee fans for showing up at the Old Horseshoe on a cold night and supporting their team. Y'all were visible and loud -- well done. Second, your QB is going to be really, really good next season -- especially if he gets some difference makers at WR. Finally, tonight was Ohio State's night. I watched Tennessee a few times this season. The Vols are better than they showed tonight; something was off. All Buckeye fans were hoping Day would coach aggressively like he did against Georgia in the CFP a few seasons ago, and fortunately the offense utilized the downfield pass this game. BTW, the only one to shut down WR Jeremiah Smith all season was Ryan Day / Chip Kelly.

Good luck next season, especially against Georgia, Alabama and Florida.

Issue was that your WRs were faster than our LBs and DBs. You avoided our only DB that was good. So a little scheme, mostly talent. Alabama and Georgia were the only two teams that came close to you guys in WR speed and Alabama had a terrible game play plus Milroe was bad while Georgia took advantage of it to put us away in Athens. EDIT: In fact, I would definitely argue that Ohio State had the best WR core we have seen all year.

Tennessee and Heupel can't win road games, that is a clear glaring problem with him. Teams and Scheme play afraid and undiscipline. Not sure how to fix as he gets credit for bring wins but there is clearly a ceiling with him.

Lack of real talent was the killer.
Ohio State is better than us. But they wanted this game more than our players did. It showed from the playes coming out on the field before game time. They came out with much much more intensity than we did. They were hyped up and ready to play and we were not.

I appreciate your good sportsmanship.

Embarrassed on the national stage. Not great for recruiting. OSU is either better (talent) or better prepared (coaching) but either way not a great way to start to offseason knowing you’re either not as talented or were out-coached.
